Charging an Archer in the brush...who has a pit trap in front of him? Perception modifiers?

Just trying to determine what would be appropriate modifiers?
DC +2(unfavorable)..it is hidden in the brush?
DC +5(distracted) you are charging the target?

Or is this listed somewhere? My search-fu is weak :)

Thanks in advance!

You can only charge if you can see your target.

So if you've succeeded at a Perception check to notice them, either as an active check the round before, or as a reactive check this round, then you can charge them.

Covered pits are much more dangerous. They can be detected with a DC 20 Perception check, but only if the character is taking the time to carefully examine the area before walking across it. A character who fails to detect a covered pit is still entitled to a DC 20 Reflex save to avoid falling into it. If she was running or moving recklessly at the time, however, she gets no saving throw and falls automatically.

If it's a pit covered by brush, a charging character would fall automatically.

You can see the archer (if you make a Perception check) I'm using basically hunter's blinds to give them a bonus to their stealth.

With a dug and covered pit trap in front. :)

Charging is not running or moving recklessly, IMHO.

The movement speed is roughly that of a move-move.

Agree to disagree then.

It's the equivalent of double move speed in the effective time frame of a single move as you also get an attack which is normally a standard on top of that. You lose the -2 to AC due to hasty/reckless movement as well...

The Concordance

If moving in a way that lowers your AC doesn’t count as “reckless” I don’t know what does.

You do not get to see the pit unless you are actively searching for it. FAQ
