Multi-Archetype Classing

Rules Questions

I know that a character can be two archetypes of the same class as long as those archetypes don't change or replace the same class feature. But how do you level up when playing a double archetype? Is it like multiclassing and you have to pick an archetype to level up? But if so, what about the class features that don't get changed by the archetype?

When you level up you gain a level in your class, this level is then modified by your archetypes.
Does that make sense? You effectively level up both archetypes at the same time, as they are both your class. Just different modifications of it.

Say you have archetype A and B
At level 2 A gives you "Hit Harder" and B gives "Harder to hit".
When your character levels up to two, you gain both "Hit Harder" and "Harder to hit" as both archetypes are ties to your class

Ok, I understand. Thanks.

This is why the archetypes aren't allowed to alter or replace the same features - it means there are no conflicts when leveling up.
