Ok so after completing a quest the party gain a large summon of gold and now my personal wealth sets at 28000 gold and I am in the market for upgrades / new items.
I am currently a level 7,flying blade that uses Cha to hit and damage
My stats are
STr 7
Dex 14
Con 14
Int 10
Cha 22 (with a +2 stat boosting item)
My weapon is a +1 flaming starknife.
I am Torn between in proving my weapon
Or bolstering my Defenses
My Ac is 20 so I do get hit a lot
My saves are decent after all a few times a day I add my Cha to my saves. I died to level drain from some reaper creature but that's causes I rolled 3 1s on my saves so I'm not sure I need to boost my saves as it was just a unlucky day for me.
I have +2 chain shirt armor
A Blink back belt
And my stat boosting item and my weapon
I do plan to stick strait flying blade and go in to snap shot feats as long as finish up the startoss line when I can

Bracers of armor are cheap, making the star knife Anchoring might be fun. Bane is always a solid choice if you encounter a lot of the same enemy types. Distance would increase your range increment when throwing it. Ghost touch if you encounter anything that can become incorporeal.
A buckler could boost defense while still leaving both hands free. Plenty of boots or cloaks that could help in other areas, like sneaking or increasing your movement in some way.

graystone: you sure about that? I always thought that was just skills and such? if so drop corsair...
Yep. It changes from a strength based check to a cha based check once you pick up the feat.
PRD [core/getting started]: "Check: A check is a d20 roll which may or may not be modified by another value. The most common types are attack rolls, ability checks, skill checks, and saving throws."

If you want to upgrade your weapon straight + bonuses are typically best. Boosting your cha is a good option. As are the misc options that increase damage/hit chance
Bracers of armor don't stack with his armor. For defensive items I would get cloak of resistance > buckler > belt of dex > natural armor necklace
Out of your options I would upgrade the headband to +4, then grab a +2 belt, a +2 buckler, and blow everything else on the cloak.

If this is true paizo should FAQ/errata that to skill checks only asap. That is an outrageously cheesy combo and OP bonus for only 4500 gold.

no offence meant...just was unsure...
Oh, I didn't think you meant to offend. It's a common reaction so it's expected. ;)

It's nothing new, so if it's meant to be JUST skills they aren't in ANY hurry to fix it. This was brought up when the item came out because of the Noble Scion feat [You use your Charisma modifier to adjust Initiative checks instead of your Dexterity modifier]. So it's been on the radar since 2012 and no FAQ/errata.

Divine fighting technique is the real problem here. Noble scion feat is also OP, but no where near in the class of star knife cha to attack/dmg.
Not really, the item is just plain strong. An oracle can turn every int skill into a cha one and for Ref saves. Steadfast Personality/Irrepressible allow you to use Cha for will saves. Undead Use Cha for Fort saves. Brevoy Bandit allows cha for a profession.
If you do it right, all your rolls are Cha rolls...
