cool side effects to raise dead

Advice

I am hoping somebody can help me come up with something cool for a character that is about to be raised. The party is LE and 11th level. The game is pretty deadly and low treasure so I have used this to increase the PC power a bit to compensate.

Once character has been by far the weakest in party, so when he died while the group was opening a gate to Abaddon, he used hero (villain) points to escape death. I had him come back as a deamon host, but allowed his daily hit point drain to be healed along with other damage when he witnessed a death caused by disease he spread.

The party cleric died and had no villain points left. The party stoll a scroll of raise dead, but mishapped on the use magic device roll so I had him come back as a ghoul (sans the ability to spawn more ghouls.)

Now the wizard died, used villain points to come back (in a cool but non altering fashion) got plane shifted to the negative energy plane, and was killed in 1 round there (by the same creature that killed him on the material plane 1 day earlier.)

The party is ...acquiring... the material components for the cleric to raise him, but I am trying to think of some little quirk to add as a memento of where he died. This is the most effective party member, so I am not trying to give them anymore ammo, but they are a glass cannon so some survivability would not be a bad thing. I'm more looking for cool and fun than power increase for this guy.

PS - character is a kobold rogue 1 / invoker 3 / arcane trickster 7 if I recall the levels correctly.

How about allow him to have his shadow live a few rounds as in impotent mobile shadow? This allows time for the fight to finish and then he be healed up.

Maybe allow the shadow attach to an object and allow it to move like an animated object? Then he gets to be a beat stick for a few rounds after he falls dead until he is healed.

Maybe allow him to heal 1 hp/creature HD when he is within 10' of a creature that is killed. Then he sucks vigor from anything that dies around him. [Including other party members.]

Have them gain a couple levels as a reaper.

Reaper
Prestige class. Must be a spirit to start.
Role. They can return to life, but only to collect people who should be dead. 10 kills and they get to bring back one person. It can be themselves, or someone else. Like Specter, from DC comics.
Alignment: Not chaotic, but they may change when the offer is made.
Hit Dice: D8
Level 1: Death Touch(constantly on, Dc 10+Cha bonus + level or hit dice), Patron(Outsider with death portfolio), Astral Cloak, Death Scythe(Cold iron weapon that Death touches on a crit)
Level 2: Extra combat feat. Death Scythe becomes +1 to hit and damage.
Level 3: Extra combat feat. Death Scythe becomes +2 to hit and damage.
Level 4: Extra combat feat. Death Scythe becomes +3 to hit and damage.
Level 5: Extra combat feat. Death Scythe becomes +4 to hit and damage.
Level 6: Extra combat feat. Death Scythe becomes +5 to hit and damage.
Patron: Could be a high level angel of death, Inevitable, or Prince of Hell. If the reaper has any spell caster levels, they can teach them any spells from the necromancy school or domain spells from death, law, or the other alignment axis.
Astral Cloak: It allows the wearer to travel to the game world, persist there, and come back. If they hand it to anyone they snap back to the land of the dead, but anyone who wears it can travel to the Land of the Dead, similarly. Snapping back causes one round stunning like Dimension Door.
When they achieve life, they can still turn into their Reaper form when necessary.

While wearing the Astral Cloak, all attacks are ghost touch.
Combat Feat-Rip the soul.
Someone with the ghost touch quality on any kind of weapon can (on a crit)reach into a spirit, grab or spear the divine inspiration, and pull it out. Once it's removed, it goes back to the gods, and the spirit is destroyed. The shreds can become part of an Illip or something, but only a True Res. or the open grave ritual has a chance of bringing the personality back together.
Prereqs. Ghost touch and it only works on an intangible spirit, on a crit. Gassious form is vulnerable too.
Normal. Ghosts keep coming back till their issues are resolved, normally.

So he died by negative energy (plane) ?

How about ...
He now takes half damage from negative energy effects, but also heals only half from positive energy (natural or augmented healing such as fast healing works normally).

Free Oracle Curse, with modification because he is a wizard

"Lich (Horror Realms pg. 14): Every living spellcaster hides a secret in their flesh—a unique, personalized set of conditions that, when all are fulfilled in the correct order, can trigger the transformation into a lich. Normally, one must expend years and tens of thousands of gold pieces to research this deeply personalized method of attaining immortality. Yet, in a rare few cases, chance and ill fortune can conspire against an unsuspecting spellcaster. You have unknowingly) fulfilled most (but not all) of the ritualistic components to achieve lichdom. You have yet to turn into an undead creature, but you are close. You take damage from positive energy and heal from negative energy as if you were undead. At 5th level, add control undead to your list of 2nd-level oracle spells known. At 10th level, add undead anatomy I to your list of 3rd-level oracle spells known and undead anatomy II to your list of 5th-level oracle spells known. At 15th level, you are immune to death effects."

So for this wizard...he has inadvertenly via his evil acts walked down the road to lichedom. As he is lvl 11, he gets...

(1) Healed by negative energy instead of positive energy
(2) Can convert 2nd level spells into control undead
(3) Can convert 3rd level spells to undead anatomy I
(4) Can convert 5th level spells to undead anatomy II
(5) At lvl 15, he becomes immune to death effects
