Dual Wielding two of the same one handed melee weapons

Rules Questions

Still trying to wrap my self around starfinder rules. I don't know if this has been asked before but I did I quick search and could really only find posts focusing on small arms.

Does dual wielding two of the same melee weapons provide u with any benefit at all?

Like lets say I have a lvl 1 envoy that wants to dual wield two longswords that are exactly the same. Does this provide any benefit at all? Or would it just be flair?

Also if the answer is no, any cool house rules ideas for dual wielding two meeles?

Nope, no benefit.

However, dual wielding two unwieldy weapons does allow you to use both in a full attack (one shot/swing from each). Handy for races with more than 2 arms (or have a pair of cyber arms)

No, but you could take multi weapon fighting and use 2 operative weapons at a -3 instead of a -4

That's a shame?

Does anyone use any good homebrew rules in relation to dual wielding meele?

Another advantage in the use of the Deflection feat. Your weapon must have an energy type to stop energy attacks, or a physical type to deflect physical attacks.

Why would you wield a longsword as operative anyway?
besides that fact that dual wield works only with operative weapons and small arms, the same is true for trick attack and triple/quad attack

Wasn't going to use it on an operative. Was thinking a melee focused solarian or a melee soldier build.

Unfortunately no.

So you can hold two of them they still can not be used as part of a Full attack.

Huh. Missed that bit. My mistake (and geez, unwieldy weapons are naff outside of envoys and drones)

No worries, I was thinking about the same thing only a few days ago, thus went to read the "Unwieldy" property to see how it was worded. I thought I had something clever :)

Yeah would have made for a couple of cute builds with kashtas and power armor (not powerful because getting enough on level weapons to pull it off would very quickly render you broke) but alas, it is not to be.
