On banishing cards from Class Deck

Pathfinder Adventure Card Society

****

Hi, sorry if this is painfully obvious somewhere, I've tried reading through Mummy's Mask and the Guild Guide a few times and don't quite see the answer I'm looking for. Also I'm pretty new to all of this!

My question: If I am playing a class deck and I banish a class deck card, how is this handled at the end of the scenario? During my deck upgrade selection do I need to choose a boon of the same type as the one i banished? Or can I pick my deck upgrade as normal and force my character into deck reconstruction?

For example:

Hell's vengence 1 class deck has several class deck card or abilities that require Banishing.

Let's say I play Linxia, the female human hellknight. A power feat reads "you may recharge an ally to add 1d6 plus its adventure deck number to your combat check; you may instead banish it to add 2d6( _ 3d6) plus its adventure deck number."

So during normal play I banish the ally Hawk. At end of scenario, can I elect a weapon boon as my deck upgrade and then force my deck into reconstruction to acquire a new ally boon (leveled at least 2 lower than the adventure deck level) from my class deck?

I'm in particular interested about this since I am debating building my character around this mechanic but want to make sure I understand any drawbacks during the deck upgrade/reconstruction stage. I get that if I banish my Ally(4) and we are on adventure 4 then I would only be able to get an ally (2) or lower during reconstruction. I'm mostly concerned if this would impede my deck upgrades in other categories.

Thanks for any insight!

edit: bonus question-- if i banish a card that was previously corrupt but redeemed (no longer corrupt), if that card is later added back into my deck during deck reconstruction then it would now be corrupt again, correct? Or would it remain redeemed? I'm second guessing myself here since the redeemed tracker card doesn't seem to mention one way or the other. Thanks again

See the Guild Guide, p.10:
"After upgrading your deck, if your deck doesn’t have enough of certain card types to meet the Cards List requirement on your character card, and your character is Tier 2 or lower, choose the extra cards you need from your Class Deck using the Hierarchy in the sidebar on page 7. If your character is Tier 3 or higher, you may instead choose appropriate cards that have an adventure deck number at least 2 lower than your tier."

Let's say that Linxia has 4 weapons and 3 allies as part of her deck list. She then picks a weapon as her deck upgrade and she banishes a Hawk. She adds the card from her Class Deck box to her deck (bringing her up to 5 weapons) and 2 allies. She then has to rebuild her deck, so she has to take out 1 weapon, and because she is has to have 3 allies in her deck, would get to add an ally from her Class Deck box.

So the answer is you have to add an ally to get your deck back up to the number of allies you have in your Cards List.

Note that if you banished a weapon, and then chose a weapon as your deck upgrade, you don't get to rebuild your deck before you pick the deck upgrade, so your deck upgrade replaces what you banished.

As for the redemption question, I don't have the answer and Vic has indicated that it would be addressed in the new Guide, which should be coming out soon.

Redemption usually applies for the whole AP, not a specific instance of a boon. For example, you can banish the Asmodean Disciplines to redeem _itself_, so that next time you get it, it's no longer Corrupted.

The guide will have the real rules for how to handle it in OP, but for now assume that it applies to that character for the lifetime of that character. Cheers!

Ah, thank you both!! So it sounds that my line of thought was correct in handling the deck upgrades and later reconstruction.

Glad I asked about the redemption. In hindsight that makes sense. I had even read the Asmodean Disciplines text and thought about removing corrupt trait from it--but I guess I didn't think about that hard enough.

Thanks again!

The Redemption rules for PFSACG *might* still receive an adjustment, but the current working text is this:

REDEEMING CARDS
If your character deck includes a redemption card, when you are allowed to redeem a card, choose one of your cards that's listed on that card and check it off. In any scenario that character plays, cards checked off on that redemption card no longer have the Corrupted trait.

So if you redeem it, then banish it, then get it back, it's still redeemed.

So for a group that plays together regularly and has more than one character who can redeem, each of their lists affect all cards in each of their decks (and the core set, if they're in SotRi)?
