New Kasath / New Golarian?

So, the core rulebook makes clear that there are colonies out there (it mentions a few failed colonies like the 'make everything you think of come to you including stray nasty thoughts' planet. But there have to be more right? Given the REDICULUS number of planets in the 'goldilocks zone' in Starfinder. So, given that drift drives are now a thing, why haven't the Kasatha relocated to a colony world yet? I mean, they couldn't take the Idari, so some could stay behind, but it's got to be pretty cramped on that thing, right? Plus it's not like it breaks any tradition for them, their original plan was to settle on another world, right?

Same with the golarion species. I mean drow are on apostate, and elves and gnomes are on castrovel. . . But humans halflings, half-orcs and dwarves?

The Kasathas' original plan was to settle on Akiton specifically, because it was supposedly their Promised Land. Since it was already occupied, most of them stayed on Idari. They'd already been travelling in it for hundreds of years/many generations at that point.

I know that, but they didn't have drift technology when they left. Now they do. Why don't they just find a new Akiton-like home and settle there. My only question.

Ye sure it doesn't break some sort of tradition for them? I mean, part of their population stayed behind with pride that they will die along with their homeworld, they are really gung-ho about tradition :P

Travel inside the Golarion system is very fast and convenient. Settling somewhere outside of that would stifle their connection to the hub of interstellar culture.

Absalom station is poised to become the central entrpot of the galaxy-the hub of commerce, fashion, everything.

Right now, the few million kasatha on the idari are extremely close to Absalom, and in a good position to take advantage of that propinquity.

Why leave?

Nice, my new word of the week!

Note that the Kasatha spent enough centuries on the Idari that, culturally, they are now a spacer people in a lot of ways. Staying on space stations makes sense for them.

As for the Golarion refugees, honestly, they haven't made a New Golarion because, humans at least, are basically colonizing *everywhere*. Why settle one new home when you can settle dozens, or hundreds?

And to add to Metaphysicians, Halflings are openly stated to be just as ubiquitous as humans. If there's a planet with any inhabitants, chances are there's a human and halfling population there.

Im sure there are some Kasatha looking for a permanent colony world.
