HI,
im interested what kind of Spells via scrolls i should get as a Bard.
I already have Identify, Share Langauage, Comprehend Language, Highten Awerness,Deadeye Lore, Endure Elements and See Invisiblity as Scrolls.

Do you guys have Spells (LvL and 2) that are so situational that they are best used as Scrolls for Ring of Spellknowledge?

Ring of Spellknowledge?
Where did you find that.

Scarab Sages

Off the bard list, maybe invigorate. It's a nifty way to get rid of fatigue temporarily (10 mins/level).I carried scrolls of that on my Sorcerer for UMD or to use with a Ring of Spell Knowledge II.

If you have a Ring of Spell Knowledge II, then there are a LOT of 1st level Wizard spells it's worth carrying on a scroll. Or ill omen off the Witch list, if there's another caster in your group you can combo with.

Borrow skill, deadeye lore, and summon monster I all seem useful to have available for 1st level spells.

For 2nd: greater detect magic, disguise other, honeyed tongue, investigative mind, communal share language, tongues, and voluminous vocabulary all seem useful.

Thereafter, the arcane spellcaster may cast the spell as though she knew the spell and it appeared on her class’ spell list

Three questions

1) there seems to be no line in the text of this ring that states the spell in the ring can be replaced. Is it a one spell item?

2) once you know the spell, do you need to keep the ring on?

3) how long dose it take to gain the knowledge?

Scarab Sages

1) It says you can take a standard action to gain the knowledge of the spell. It doesn't say you can never take a standard action again to gain the knowledge of a different spell. The "single spell" part means that you can only have one at a time. You might encounter table variation, but ruling that you can only ever store one spell and it can never change makes it a very overpriced item.

A Ring of Spell Knowledge I costs 1,500gp and can store one 1st level spell. It is a slotted item, which means that a slotless version should cost 3,000gp.

A Page of Spell Knowledge costs 1,000gp. So you are essentially paying 2,000gp worth of value (500 actual gold pieces, plus making it a slotted item). You get the extra ability to store a spell you see, but you could always pay for a scroll or even just spell book access to set the spell when you buy the ring. The pricing doesn't make since if it can only be set once, ever.

The discrepancy gets bigger with higher level rings. A Ring of Spell Knowledge II costs 6,000gp, or the equivalent of a 12,000gp slotless item. A Page of Spell Knowledge 2nd level costs 4,000gp. So a difference of 8,000gp worth of value.

Those 2 items appear in the same book (Ultimate Equipment), so they weren't included without knowledge of the other item.

2) Yes. The ring is what is granting the spell. You need to wear the ring to know the spell.

3) Using the ring is a standard action. After that, you know the spell.

EDIT: You do also get the possibility of learning a spell not on your class list, but even that I don't think would justify the price difference. Especially since you learn it at a level higher than it's actual spell level.
