I was one of the players selected to play in this game and we were having fun. The GM had run into some personal RL issues which is a common theme in a PBP game. Life comes first and will not hold it against anyone. Well it seems that these RL issues have taken the GM away and the game was place on inactive status. We the players wish all the best to our old GM and wish him luck in his new recruitment thread.
Now onto what we are here for.
Looking for a GM to take over this game that is in the beginning stages. Right now we have 4 of the original players up for continuing this. We are looking for a GM that can motivate this group and keep it moving along at a good pace. Would like to have some heavy posting to keep this thing moving forward.
It is our hope that we can find a GM to take over.
Go to Skull and Shackles..

Ordrax and company, I might be interested in picking this up. I have run a heavily modified Skull and Shackles for my tabletop group, and I've run a few PbP games with varying amounts of success. I had a lot time running the campaign, but I widened the sandbox quite a bit, which isn't always the best idea for PbP.
Can you give me a little more about what you want in a GM? What kind of post rate are you looking for? Right now my posting is concentrated around night time. My workload varies a lot throughout the year, and I'm pretty busy right now, but things will die down in the next few weeks.

modified in what way?

Modified in story. I beefed up the involvement of some cool characters who weren't expected to play a role throughout the campaign, made one of the villains grandmother to a PC, played out some things that were supposed to be in the background, involved the big bad villains earlier in the campaign, added a villain group that a PC wanted to fight. Also added in some side quests from Freeport and other pirate 3rd party stuff.
Obviously in PbP, I wouldn't want to expand the campaign that way. Better to keep things lean. But I'd still prefer to make some of the NPC interactions last for a bigger part of the campaign.
I also changed some of the subsystems. Thought the rum ration being so deadly was silly, used different ship combat rules that gave more characters more to do, things like that.

I apologize. I posted on the campaign discussion thread, hoping to get it to show up on my campaigns tab and keep from cluttering recruitment. I failed to realize that with the campaign marked inactive that none of you would see that.
I was hearing crickets and wondering where everyone was. I imagine you were thinking the same thing. Here is what I wrote.
Is everyone here good with me taking over? I'm looking through characters and trying to wrap my mind around the group. If you could give me some insight into how you would want your character's story to play out, that would be great. Any personal or professional goals. If you want to be a free spirit and take what comes, that is fine. But if someone has a clear vision of being a certain kind of pirate or whatever, I would want to make that path available, at least.
Also, I think we are ok as far as party balance. There are a bunch of NPC's who can fill in for missing roles if need be. I'll certainly reach out to Murat and see if he is interested in coming back. I was enjoying the goblin/hobgoblin dynamic.
Also, do you want to just start a new campaign thread? Or have me take over the old one. There isn't a whole lot here that we need to keep, I think.
As for recruiting a new melee type, I'll leave that up to the current players.

Great! Thanks for taking this game over. As far as the thread, if it's easy to do, keep the original for continuity. If it's a pain, create a new one since we're not that far into it.
I'll get back to you on my character.
If Murat joins us, that would be great. Otherwise we could look for a new melee.

I mean, I'd be fine either way- we could even start over as far as I'm concerned. Nothing's really happened and we're only a day or two in. Or we could keep the current thread. As-is, I could go either way.
Quick question, though. I'm hoping to go into Diabolist eventually. Can I use the old version? I'm not terribly thrilled with the changes made. (And, with Veltisiel being NE, he can't even enter the new version with its stricter alignment requirements.)

I've sent in a request to become the GM for the game thread. It usually takes a few days for that to happen.
I've only ever run one gestalt campaign, so let's hold off on that for the moment. Maybe if it looks more necessary as we go.
Veltisiel, I think I know what you are talking about with the Diabolist changes, and my only concern would be having easy access to the rules we are using if we use the old ones. I can just dump them in a google doc or something.
Until I get control of the campaign, I can't make it active, so we might have to wait until then. Hard to run a campaign (or play) when we can't see notifications.

I currently have them copy/pasted into another one of my aliases (similar scenario), but a Word doc is a good idea. If I get some time today, that's what I'll do. Thanks.

Jesse Heinig and Sapiens, I'm absolutely willing to take your submissions, given our history. I'm not interested in adopting unknowns. I think it will be hard enough to breathe life back into this campaign that is two months on life support. But I know the two of you are stellar contributors, so I'm confident in you adding to the campaign.
