I vote that the allusion at the end of 1-04 be SMC and that it tie into a multi-table special at GenCon next year to wrap up the SMC meta plot. Maybe GoT Red Wedding style. Not because I hate SMC, but because Martin has proven that murdering fan favorites in a dramatic fashion makes for good storytelling. So, I not so secretly hope SMC get murdered at a multi-table special at GenCon next year, leaving us in the wake of tragedy to kick off the next story plot.

Oh, and some Scoured Stars Incident plot advancement would be Ok too.

Was there any doubt that Ziggy was referring to Strawberry Machine Cake?

I think it is all an aboleth plot to brainwash citizens of the pact worlds. Subliminal hypnotic messages and all that.

"Noooooooo!" The little gnome marches up to the snake and glares at it. "You keep your paws -- er -- slithery coils off my Strawberry Machine Cake!"

I was just trying to be discrete for those who haven't played the scenario yet, given how new it is.

I am convinced that the soundtrack to The World Ends With You is performed by SMC.

So I am still trying to wrap my head around Strawberry Machine Cake, but one thing I'm fairly certain that clicked in my head as I was skimming through Alien Archive info is that if SMC doesn't have a herd (pack . . . grouping? not sure of the term) of Skittermanders as roadie's and stage hands.

At least in the PF bestiaries, the collective noun should be mentioned in the ecology setting (e.g. ghouls have Organization solitary, gang (2–4), or pack (7–12)). I don't have AA, so I can't confirm if it's still there.

They do, and have amusing appellations just like the Pathfinder Bestiaries.

Skittermanders are just a "mob" while the whelps are a "nest". I personally go with a "charity" for them :3

This is what happens when GMs allow magical child vigilantes in Starfinder.

I'm sold on the idea.

I love SMC! I've been trying to get my agent to open up talks with theirs to do some sort of collab, 'cause I feel like my vocals on their synth tunes would be a stellar match!

I'm hoping that Hats is still around and at least a roadie for SMC, if not their road manager

Scenario Pitch: The frontliner for Stawberry Machine Cake has come into possession of intel crucial to the future of the Starfinder Society, but assassins are after the group! To keep them safe, the PCs must impersonate the band well enough to make it halfway through a concert in order to lure to the assassins into a trap!

I might have just ripped that off from an episode of Scooby Doo, but hey, a good idea's a good idea . . .

Reminiscent of Mercurial, for Shadowrun, although less impersonation there.

I bought copies for my Mechanic AND his drone!

Honestly the name made me think of some sort of jpop group, maybe a really weird one like Kyary Pamyu Pamyu

Incidentally, it was a really good idea to look this up at 4 AM.

Just finished Yesteryear's Truth today. We had multiple copies of Strawberry Machine Cake's new album. We played it for several people in the new scenario. Spreading the joy planet by planet.

I'm really hoping that Ben over at Syrinscape is working on the soundtrack for AMC's album. It would be a shame not to have that in the works.

You know, (a version of) Strawberry Alarm Clock is still around and playing concerts occasionally. They released an album a few years ago.

Now if you could get them to record an album as Strawberry Machine Cake it would be awesome!

I just realized that no one had mentioned Strawberry Alarm Clock yet in this thread. How is that possible?

Cr@p I haven't heard Incense and Peppermints in like FOREVER! They are a little more bubble-gummy than what I envision for Cake. I hope they are a bit heavier than SAC. Maybe wash Pink Floyd though the psychedelic cycle a few times, mix in a bit of Devo, and sprinkle it with some Flock of Seagulls.

Whenever I GM the commencement (which I have done 3 Times now?) I always play SUGAR RUSH from Wreck-it-Ralph. Headcannon that is what strawberry Machine cake sounds like.

Hello Everybody, this Strawberry Machine Cake's bright and adorable Zoey! Thanks you all for supporting us, we will work very hard to bring you great songs. Please show us lots of love!

She waves, throws little kisses to the crowd and hands Lucas a special signed photcard

I like to imagine SMC as something like this (link).
