I have a character (possibly for SFS, so being as close to RAW is appreciated) who I am looking into buying a personal camera for, but I can't seem to find any sort of price.
Outside of a few class features (Mechanic's drone and Expert Rig class features) I don't see how a character can access a camera. Obviously they exist, as several abilities (like Mechanic's Overload) and the computer description says that you'd need a control module to control an external camera.
Personal Comm units only do audio and text based communication, but it sounds like a regular computer would have access to the equivalent of a webcam. What I'm looking for is more of a personal video recorder, to take pictures as its owner explores, and can record findings for later. Any help?

In general, any minor piece of equipment with a real-world equivalent (alarm clock, camera, digital keys for vehicles you own, timer, watch, and so on) can be purchased with GM approval, costs 5 credits, and has light bulk.
Given that comm units are apparently the magical space science fantasy equivalent of smart phones, they really should have such recording capabilities built into them as well. But if you're looking for something entirely RAW, that general statement above is the way to do it.

Cameras are mentioned on page 218. They cost 5 credits and have light bulk. No mention of how much data it can hold, what batteries it might use, or anything else though.
Probably wise not to put numbers to the data on future tech as it helps avoid embarrassment. I would assume any future tech device could hold probably as much pictures as you could possibly want and probably the same for video. Storage limitation should only really be an issue if the players are trying to do something really really unusual with it.
