Nonstarship vehicle combat?

Homebrew

I am playing around with converting the pirate setting Razor Coast by Frog God Games. I would appreciate some guidance on either altering the starship rules, or creating new rules for combat between water vehicles.

I am writing rules for mech combat for Starfinder. It wouldn't be hard to put in additional rules for non-legged mobility.

Do the vehicle chase rules on page 282 not work for what you have in mind?

I will have to look over the rules again, but I am thinking about vehicles with multiple crew, such as battleships.

For visuals im using heavy gear then fkr rules im using hexes and star ship stats for the most part with weapons being x5 instead of x10 like it advises in the starship rules for firing on partues of people if i ever actually get ti writing the rules i plan on using ill post them here

I have 42 pages of Mechfinder so far. The scaling started at x3 but I reduced it to x2 for now. It makes a mech's CR = Tier +5, roughly.

I for one would really like to test out the rules if and when you make them available. Will they also include rules for constructing mechs?

The rules have been available for several months now. Construction rules are included.

Honestly then at that point the Starship rules actually emulate naval combat better than they do space combat. All I would remove is the barrel roll manouvre and you are pretty much golden. Possibly add in momentum if you want a bit more complexity.

For momentum I would do. You can choose one of the following categories when doing a manouvre, you may not however select an option that is more than 1 above or below your previous choice.

Full Reverse: The ship moves in the direction opposite of facing. It must move at least 1/4 it's max speed and no more than 1/2.

Reverse: The ship moves in the direction opposite of facing. It must move at least 1 space and no more than 1/4 it's max speed.

Stop: The ship does not move this turn.

Slow: The ship must move at least 1 space and no more than 1/4 it's max speed.

Half Steam: The ship must move at least 1/4 it's max speed and no more than 1/2.

Full Steam: The ship must move at least 1/2 it's max speed and up to it's max speed.
