Editable - Player Character Folio

I don't know if this has been brought up but I must say I love the character folio. But it saddens me because everything has to be done by hand. In this day and age, I don't understand why we can't have an editable Player Character Folio. Hell, I would pay an extra couple bucks more for one over the normal pdf price just for that feature. Who else would be willing to do the same?

Heck yes. It's too easy to do and I'd really, really hate to have to cobble together one of my own. It's possible, but a convenient 'official' form-fillable PDF would be AWESOME.

If the security settings available for PDFs allowed for a single document to be protected, form-fillable, and savable, we would be happy to offer that. Unfortunately, all three of those things can't be done together.

PDFs most certainly can be savable, form-fillable and access-protected. Such PDFs are used in several professional fields as a matter of routine. Legal, real estate and many more.

The trick is in the interface system - the security system being used to watermark PDFs - which I'm guessing is the sticking point.

Formswift for example lets you edit/form-fill, save and so on all manner of legal PDF documents. It's not free past its trial period. Other examples include DocuSign, Authentisign, DotLoop and many more.

Perhaps something similar where a customer purchases specific access to Paizo's system, accessing, editing/form-filling the character sheet and saving it in-system, exporting/sharing non-editable (printable) sheets therefrom.

To clarify:

What all of these programs do is provide a template with the form-fillable fields coded in. Once you are done with it, you can print to PDF, e-mail said PDF and so on. These programs provide their user with the ability to assign varying degrees of editing rights to the PDF across different recipients, some including unblockable full rights to, say, the company's admin staff.

For example, Agent Smith fires up [program], fills in the contacts section for the specific set of documents being created, creates the specific set of documents (agency agreement, terms of online listing, property disclosures, and so forth) with editing rights granted to his clients to digitally/electronically initial and sign the PDF. Upon completion [program] updates the meta-document for Agent Smith to then file with their boss to get the go-ahead to list their clients' home for sale/begin the home buying process. These files cover several dozen pages and these days are fairly simple and straightforward to manage entirely electronically.

For something as comparatively simple as a character sheet PDF with additional pages re: starships, drones, et al this should be pretty easy to manage, especially if it isn't one doing any behind-the-screen calculations.

I'm looking at the editable pdf character sheets that I'm using for 5e, 4e, and BASH so it can't be that hard.

I read this thread title as 'Edible Player Character Folio' -- when your character dies, you can eat it. Certain adventure paths could generate decent sales for such a thing.

You could sell 'em in different flavors for 3-d printers that make food items. Cheeseburger character sheets, pizza character sheets, hash browns-n-bacon character sheets ...

I was just asking about this in an different thread. PLEASE someone create an editable Starfinder Character Portfolio!

Add me as another vote in favor of this, not just the Character Folio, but essentially all forms.
