Silver Crusade 4/5

The SFS Guide says that the Reincarnate spell is banned in SFS. However, Mystics of the Xenodruid connection are supposed to automatically get it as a known spell when they reach high enough level.

In PFS, such banned features are usually replaced by something else, but nothing like that is mentioned in the SFS Guide. Do Xenodruids get a replacement spell instead?

Good catch!

I'll see about getting something official out to clarify this. Off the cuff (not official) I'm thinking that Restoration or [Remove Radioactivity[/i] would be in theme for the Xenodruid, and be a fairly minor change to note in our official clarifications (when we eventually get those posted).

Luckily, 10th level is a ways off for many PCs. So, there's some time to get something more official in the works. Still, good catch, and I'm adding it to my ongoing list of things to check into.

Yeah, I know that nobody's going to hit level 10 in SFS for at least a year, but some of us like to plan our PC builds and level ups right from the start. I was actually leaning towards other connections for a mystic, anyway, so not a big deal for me. But I figured it would be good to get it on your radar early.

*necro bump*

The word "reincarnate" only comes up twice in a search of this forum, and the Version 1.1 Guide just tells us it's illegal.

While my Xenodruid is a ways off from getting her Connection Spell, there's got to be at least a handful of them out there at this point.

I'm one of those handful. I also worry about that connection spell.

Added to the ongoing notes for Guide 2.

*Bump* Thinking of an Undine (thanks to a boon) Xenodruid.. So, I'm curious about this as well.

I'm at level 5 with my Xenodruid, so I'm wondering the same thing for later.

As of now, it's not part of Guide 2.0.

Please pardon the thread-necromancy!

Not finding this in Guide 3.0, looking at new character and this popped up during creation process. What was determined in regards replacement?

Thank you very much for your time in advance!

Nothing yet, it's on our agenda for Guide 4.0, coming hopefully in the next couple of months.

Thank you! Xeeter wants his spell so he can help more people, plants and animals!

Is reincanate allowed now in Starfinder? I'm not seeing it as being banned now. Archives of Nethys also lists it as being allowed (Even if this isn't an official source, they're usually pretty accurate).

From one of the many threads about this:

I believe a tentative decision was made, but it is waiting final confirmation and then will go into an FAQ(?) update (So that it stays with the other Core Rule book / Society clarifications.)

EDIT: That said, the Guide still lists it as banned:

It is still banned. If AoN lists it as allowed, that is an error in AoN.

Yeah, we ran out of time in the last guide and hadn't managed to get a response. It is still on the list to be fixed.

Just checked, and both reincarnate and animate dead are listed in AoN incorrectly as legal for SFS play. I pointed it out to the AoN team in one of the feedback channels just now.

Sorry for the wait. I just received notice, and the FAQ should be updated soon.
