gear clamp and called weapon infusion.

If say a soldier uses a gear clamp on his weapon that he would not be let into say a cantina with. to lock the weapon outside so no one messes with it or steals it. can the called weapon infusion be used to summon it inside the cantina. Am I missing anything or will this work. This seems a little bit broken.


That will work, you aren't missing anything.

the called fusion states

"This ability has a maximum range of 100 feet, and effects that block teleportation prevent the return of a called weapon."

this is assuming that the character is within 100 feet of the weapon and the cantina isn't warded with effects that would prevent teleportation.

If I were running this scenario I would say there's at least some chance that the fusion is noticed by whatever security forces are enforcing the clamp, and the soldier is asked to stay outside or some other measure to prevent the smuggling.

Of course, smart money would just leave the weapon in an alley, dumpster or being held by a space hobo and then called once inside, anyway. This is the fun part of the called fusion so I wouldn't go out of my way to prevent it. It's not terribly different from a holdout weapon, armor compartment (or Android torso sheath, etc.) Does not seem broken, as this is the entire purpose of the called fusion and the fusion does nothing else.


That would be smart... until the space hobo picked up your gun and walked more than 100' away with it...
