Some Questions on the Mechanic

Rules Questions

As the title says.
1. If you take the Extra Mod Mechanic Trick with an Exocortex, are you restricted to the list of basic mods from the Level 7 Exocortex Mods class feature, or are any basic mods available? Specifically Enhanced Armor would be pretty great...

2. If you use the Level 7 Exocortex Mod to give yourself Advanced Melee proficiency, do you automatically get Weapon Specialization with Advanced Melee per the Level 3 text granting it for each weapon given proficiency via class?

3. Do you lose the Skill Focus bonus feat from Memory Module during combat, before level 15?

4. Do you lose proficiency/specialization with Long Arms if you use Wireless Hack before level 15?

Liberty's Edge

1. I'm pretty sure you are indeed so restricted.

2. No. Getting Proficiencies as Feats doesn't automatically grant Specialization.

3. You do. While using the combat bonus, anyway.

4. I don't think so, but it's a little ambiguous.

2. while I agree that taking the feat doesn't grant spec bonus I believe that the exocort ability side steps it by adding it to the class abilities instead of a feat or is it your contention that exocort mechanics don't get spec in long arms

They specifically note that they get Specialization in Longarms. They have no such note for granted Feats.

IMO its not a granted feat as long as its taken as through the exocort and would be grandfathered in, but I can see it being read that way.

Re: combat training and heavy armor proficiency:
Heavy armor proficiency has a prerequisite of STR13.

my ysoki mechanic with an exocortex has STR8, does he gain the heavy armor proficiency or not?

Pathfinder indicated when you don't need to meet the prerequisites of feats gained through a class feature

Liberty's Edge

Proficiencies are not Feats.

Feats can give them to you, but Feats can give you Insight bonuses too, that doesn't make Insight Bonuses Feats.
