Building a Digistructer (a BL2 Angel inspired character)

Advice

Hey all, just got Starfinder and I am unbelievably pumped. Unfortunately I am always on a time crunch so it will be a while before I can fully delve into the core book.

In the mean time, title says it all. If you are familiar with Borderlands, I want to build a character than can construct objects, from guns to fighting robots. Akin, somewhat, to a summoner from Pathfinder.

It seems technomancer selecting creation spells is the obvious choice but I they don't seem to have too many creation abilities and creation spells are few and far between.

I would love to hear all of your ideas and recommendations.

tldr: I want a tech summoner like Angel or the Mechromancer from Borderlands 2.

Sounds cool, I loved to play the mechromancer :)

Dotting this. I have been pumped to try to figure out how to do as much BL work in SF as possible.

Its pretty hard to.... I don't know if there is a real diret way to do it other than what the bits that technomancer can do. There really isn't much of anything along the lines of summoning in this

Still haven't looked through much of the book, but maybe this could be better accomplished by legacy converting summoner. I haven't read how casting classes convert using the legacy rules but I will dive into that tonight after work. This might just be out of reach until more spells are added.

It would be pretty awesome to build the whole crew in SF. Some seem very straight forward, like a dual wielding soldier for Gunzerker or an operative with melee for Zero. I think Mystic fits best for Siren. Maybe a Legacy converted Barbarian for the Psycho. Mechanic with a war chasis for his drone? That actually sounds really fun.

What have you thought of so far?

So technomancer has Fabricate Tech as a level 2 Hack. It lets you burn a spell slot to create any non-consumable, non- weapon or armor tech item, with a level up to 3× the spell slot used or your level.

Fifth level boosts it to Fabricate Arms, allowing you to create weapons and armor with the same restrictions.

Microbot assault is a 2nd level spell that creates a cloud of tiny robots to distract does.

Third level spells include handy junkbot and healing junkbot.

Battle junkbot is available as a sixth level spell.

Great catch on the hack, I hadn't seen that yet. I had seen the other creation spells, and they definitely suit my needs. I just wish there were a few more!

Thanks for the tip.

While the technomancer may seem like the right way to 'magically' make robots and stuff the system mechanics actually go a different way in starfinder, making us of 'sufficiently advanced' technology as to be indistinguishable from magic.

The Mechanic and its accompanying drone are indeed the closest functional analog to the Summoner, or Druid with animal companion, to be found in the Starfinder setting. In addition to being an impressively versatile class it packs a real option for powerful abilities both in combat and outside combat in which crafting can be done easily.
