The Stars are Right and it is time for the Aliens to Awaken!

Coming to Kickstarter in September from Legendary Games, an epic encyclopedia of alien adversaries and cosmic creatures perfect for your sci-fi adventuring pleasure, whether you're playing the brand-new hit Starfinder Roleplaying Game or taking your 5th Edition campaign beyond fantasy and into the stars!

The Alien Bestiary is a full-sized, full-color hardback bestiary featuring over 200 incredible aliens of every description, from tiny robot walking eyes to Lovecraftian Great Old Ones, from humanoid races both friendly and foul to inhuman abominations from the darkest nebulas. Of course, fans of the star-spanning Legendary Planet saga will recognize the fiendish foes like the savage klaven footsoldiers, sinister jagladine genetic engineers, warmongering bil'djooli shock troopers, and many, many more!

In addition, as part of our continued partnership with Robert Brookes and the gang at Encounter Table Publishing, fans of the awe-inspiring Aethera Campaign Setting will also find dozen more exciting additions to their spacefaring saga, from the invading taur and aether-touched infused to the organic symbionts, living machine phalanx, and, of course, the magnificently malevolent kytons!

Of course, there's much, MUCH more to tell, with plans already gearing up for the Alien Bestiary 2, the Alien Codex, and the Aethera Codex, and that's not even considering our regular product lines devoted to Starfinder, Pathfinder, and 5th Edition, like the brand-new Legendary Planet Player's Guide (Starfinder) and the ongoing Legendary Worlds series for all three systems!

Check out all the latest from Legendary, because this double-barreled rocket-booster is getting ready to launch NEXT WEEK!

THE HYPE ASTROTRAIN HAS NO BRAKES!!!

This is looking really interesting!

It sounds like a lot of these aliens will be conversions of Pathfinder monsters. Will there be any new aliens? Will they be written for 5E first and then converted to SF? The other way around? PF first then the other two?

There will be some of all categories!

- There are existing official Pathfinder monsters that will be converted.
- There are Legendary Planet monsters that were created for Pathfinder and 5E that will get Starfinder versions.
- There are Aethera monsters that will get Starfinder and 5E versions.
- There will be brand-new monsters created for 5E and Starfinder (which version is created first depends on which designer creates them), and which undoubtedly at some point will be converted over to Pathfinder as well.

Thanks, Jason. I realise I'm only one person, but figured I'd pass along that I'm not supporting any "multiple systems" projects any more. My experience is that the rush to get everything done inevitably leads to poor "conversions" that fail to appreciate the differences between systems. (1st level PF adventures being converted to 1st level 5E adventures being the most clear cut example).

I'm interested in a book of aliens written for Starfinder. The extra development time will pay off, in my view.

Hi Steve,

I appreciate your perspective on this, and we have been working on this project for some time already, with the project led by Lyz Liddell, editor and developer of the Starfinder Core Rulebook and Alien Archive, whose experience and expertise is paying off in making sure that everything we do does fully appreciate the differences between the Pathfinder and Starfinder systems. Legendary Games does all we do with excellence, and we hope you'll check the book out. Doing things for multiple systems does create challenges, no doubt, but we've got a large and experienced team on the case and we think they're up to it. We'd love to have your support for the project, and we absolutely appreciate all of your support for past projects, but only you can decide where your gaming investment works best for you and brings you the most happiness.

Thanks for the further information, Jason. I appreciate my comment should really have been delivered privately. Sorry for derailing a hype thread. :(

You definitely produce high quality stuff (and high quality staff like Lyz is a big part of that I'm sure). My skepticism is around the feasibility of producing one monster for three systems, not whether you specifically are up to it.

Cheers
Steve

Chances are, I'll be pledging.

Are you planning to have a similar ratio of playable races as the Alien Archive, or are they going to be only in their own supplement?
