DM Corerue's Recruitment for Ruins of Azlant, Lost Colonies

Recruitment

201 to 250 of 277 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | next > last >>

Oh yeah, wealth;

Wealth: 5d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 1, 5, 3) = 20

Well that's good.

Okay! I present Karandir, Aquatic Elf Swashbuckler looking for adventure and excitement exploring old Azlant! GM, if taking a Drawback will result in an additional Trait, I may do that, but otherwise everything should be complete.

Hello GM,

I know you're close to the deadline, but if possible, I'd like to submit an Ulfen bloodrager, either aquatic or naga bloodline. Stat rolls and the like to follow.

Str: 15 + 1d3 ⇒ 15 + (1) = 16
Dex: 6 + 1d10 ⇒ 6 + (8) = 14
Con: 15 + 1d3 ⇒ 15 + (2) = 17
Int: 6 + 1d10 ⇒ 6 + (8) = 14
Wis: 6 + 1d10 ⇒ 6 + (1) = 7
Cha: 15 + 1d3 ⇒ 15 + (2) = 17
Floater: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 5, 5) = 17

Wealth: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 3) = 13

Very doable. :) This is Redblade's "two-minute-drill" version of the aforementioned bloodrager. If this is too late, I completely understand.

If I understood DM Corerue correctly, there's no 7th roll if you use the paired rolls method.

Hmm, in which case, I'll look back through the thread later tonight, review the relevant posts, and adjust as needed. Thanks for the heads up!

Great Question and Yes, yes you do. :D

Basically you can do 3 epic, 3 non epic and a final 4d6 drop 1 for the 7th. :)

Let me know if there is anything else!

@Amarantine Witch - Please note this post by DM Corerue

If the 7th roll is high enough to replace an epic roll then it can.

If it's low enough to replace your lowest bad roll it can.

I'm not here to make characters that aren't fun to play, nor am I aiming for perfect beings. Because no matter your stats you can still die.

I played a character who got 3 18s and then two 11s and a 10. It's an interesting system. Though i see a lot of people with a LOT better luck then me lmao.

Huh. I was going by this. Better for me then.

4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 6, 1) = 18

I've always preferred higher stats, simply because I feel like it gives characters more options. I've never found a few extra +1s to be super unbalancing

It's always been frustrating for me to not be "able" to do something as a player because my particular stat is too low. That's always been

(Whoops, posting from mobile) annoying to me, and something I've seen as a bit of a design flaw in class-based games

For me it stems from my loathing of the dump stat as a concept. I mean, I get it, and I get why it's done, but I look at notable "action hero" characters, and sit there trying to figure, what's Conan's dump stat? Michael Westen's? Han Solo's? The first time I had that thought, there went my acceptance of the idea of a dump stat.

There's a good article I read a while back about that kind of stuff. Like, in a movie Sean Connery was in, he killed a guy with his thumb. So translating that to RPG terms, what sort of damage does Sean Connery's thumb do? The answer is that it doesn't matter; that's just what the Character does.

That was one of the conceits of Dungeon world I really enjoyed; damage die was determined by your class, not by your weapon. Certain weapons had different qualities, sure, and some were magic and better than normal, but at the end of the day, if your barbarian loses his long sword, he still does 1d10 damage because he just beats people to death.

Anyway, may as well roll that 7th...

Final Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 4, 4) = 19

Not bad.

Yeah...dump stats...not everyone likes being big damn heroes though

Updated Character List

Velden has an alias, it just won't get updated unless he's chosen. :) Lot of work to rewrite it if I don't get chosen. Got too many aliases now that got done up for a recruitment and didn't get chosen.

The wait's almost over. That's not too big a list. Should be fun for whoever gets in.

Han solo doesn't need a dump stat. the average stormtrooper had about 1d10 +2 HP.

It might be a bit early, but I'd like to wish everyone good luck with their submissions! Also, I'd like to thank JAF0 and Ancient Dragon Master for pointing out and correcting an error in my last post; I certainly wouldn't want my submission to be inaccessible. :)

Luck to all as well

Corerues, I will be dropping, as I got into another one of the same ap. I hope everyone has fun! Thank you for running

Miven is an Undine Brawler not a human ranger.

And Elial is not an arcane caster, he is a fighting type with utility.

To be fair, trying to put kineticists into a category like that can be a little tricky.

That is why I avoided class type ordering in my character list.

Picture for Velden, if he's picked

I had a similar reaction when I read the list - its really hard to pigeon-hole Kineticists!

just got home and was going to re[order the list, but it's been done, thanks RHMG!

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

btw, I think today is closing date for recruitment iirc, so good luck all!

Sovereign Court

Our most recent closing date was yesterday actually. We're just waiting to hear back from DM Corerue.

DM Corerue's camp lost internet for 3 days over the weekend, just got it back (per alias posts) so he should get to us tomorrow once he catches up.

Good Luck all!

Dark Archive

Good luck everyone

Good luck to everyone. Whoever gets in should have a lot of fun. I'm almost finished running book one and my players are having a blast!

The delays give me hope that if I throw something up really quickly then I might still have a chance of getting in :) firstly, rolling stats...

And lets go all out >:)

Int: 1d3 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
Dex: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Con: 1d3 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
Wis: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Str: 1d3 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
Cha: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Wowzerz...
What I am planning on making is a Str focused melee Wizard with those rolls. I have the stats, why not create something unusual...
So! Transmuter Wizard it is!!!
Str 20 (+1 from Transmuter Wizard, +2 Racial)
Dex 15
Con 16
Int 18
Wis 16
Cha 16
He is going to be from a rich, well bred family, convinced of their own superiority and manifest destiny.

Rolling Method:
So rolling will be as followed:
For each attribute, roll 4d6, dropping the lowest die. If you rolled less than a 7, re-roll, i.e., 7 is the minimum allowed attribute score.

In addition, roll 7 attribute scores and drop the lowest.

Assign attribute scores as you will.

Alternately, you may employ "epic rules" and roll 1d3+15 for any attribute you choose, BUT for every attribute you roll this way, you must roll one other attribute as 1d10+6. So let's say you're rolling a sorcerer(ess). You would probably want to roll 1d3+15 for your charisma, and then take 1d10+6 for maybe strength or dex, leaving your other attributes as standard rolls.

Edit: Wealth
Wealth: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 60, becomes 70

@Gobo Horde
Better odds of being picked if you go with either a skilled or divine class, as there is only one of each, not counting the hybrids.
And there is a good number of both frontline and or arcane submissions currently.

He would fall into the hybird section. He would be a strong (I hope) frontliner with decent hitpoints, backup arcane spells and 8-9 skill ranks.
Hmmm... ya I probably would have a better chance of getting picked if I built a divine, skill focused character, but... build what you love, ya know? That way if I do get picked, I will more likely enjoy the character I have :)
While I can build ANYTHING, I'm not really the kind of person who can just get into character for everything :p I have to play what I know.

So, reduced chances aside, I think I'll stick with him :)

Going to go for the EPIC Rolls!

Good Stat: 1d3 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
Risky Stat: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Good Stat: 1d3 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
Risky Stat: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Good Stat: 1d3 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
Risky Stat: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

I understand this is a VERY late entry, but with stats like these and no one yet chosen, I HAD to put a character together...

Also, there seems to be a Divine Caster shortage. Allow me to fix that:

Allow me to introduce Zamir Aghari: a Runaway Prince who believes his newfound powers are fulfilling his Suli destiny, transforming him into a Marid... but his "Deep One" Curse says otherwise! His outsider blood has been tainted by The Old Ones for reasons uknown, and they have been sending him visions of sunken Azlant in his dreams.

Seeking answers, Zamir has absconded from his father's palace and traveled far to Andoran, gaining passage on the Peregrine. He hopes that he may find the source of his nightmares, stop them, and then step back once more into the luxuries to which he has become accustomed.

Crunch to come, but he'll be taking the "Set Mind" trait, as he's stubborn as all hell.

@GM can I give someone my stats? I can't commit to another game right now and it would be a shame to waste such good stats.

....
been over a week since the GM posted here.....
Not a good sign.......

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

no... was just thinking that myself... I hope he or she is okay.

Given the information they posted in the OP, I'd guess that the GM is just busy, so I doubt that they'll leave us in the dark for long. I still hope they're all right, though.

I think I'm gonna pull my submission of Aersten. No hard feelings, but at this point I'd just like to see some forward progress.

Good luck to everyone.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

We all would, but I'm hanging in... the GM posted not long ago slammed at work and would post there soon, so hoping DM Corerue gets back to this eventually too... *crossing fingers*

Oh, absolutely. I have to stress it's not that I'm mad or anything like that, just that this sort of open-ended indefinite wait is, well, it's not a strength of mine. :)

Have a good one!

I'd like to try and get in on this if the DM shows up and is willing to allow me to enter.

Str: 1d3 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
Dex: 4d6 - 2 ⇒ (4, 5, 2, 5) - 2 = 14
Con: 4d6 - 1 ⇒ (1, 4, 5, 5) - 1 = 14
Int: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Wis: 1d3 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
Chr: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

7th Roll: 4d6 - 1 ⇒ (5, 4, 4, 1) - 1 = 13

Wealth: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11

I think it is safe to say this recruitment is dead...
