This summer I finished a showcase project, I also finished a marble wall, built a walkway with a perfect curve, built a patio that looks like a sunrise, and gained super powers from the covid vaccine (I got them from somewhere!).
And I got a promotion and raise.
So, slightly more busy than my typical summer.

I'm going to try my hand at engraving, first up, engraving Roman numerals in the stone sundial I'll be building next. Or at least it's one of my upcoming jobs.

The fun part about having your daughter working for you during the summer is you get to give her crap, and make her do some of your less glamorous work.
So I had to dig a ditch for the wall I was building and using a tooth bucket so it leaves a bit of a mess in the bottom of a ditch, so I send Crookshanks to clean out the stray chunks of dirt and clay and as she's cleaning it up I say to her "I want that ditch clean enough to eat out of!" She thinks about it for a second and says "Eew, Dad!".

We had a new hire at the park, and the boss told me go to clean drains down the road we don't usually get to. This involves anything from standing int mud to wading and a short swim on one occasion if you actually want to do anything effective.
End of the day the boss has a complaint. New hire complains she won't even get in car with me after I'm cleaning the drains, much less clean the drains herself.
"So your complaint is you sent me to muck out drains that have three feet of water in them and I got covered in mud? "
"Uhmm.. Hold on.....It made more sense when they said it..."

Last summer was a ton of fun!
I built a sundial!
Taught my daughter how to engrave on stone with chisels. She liked it so much I got her her very own set of chisels and she kept some stone scraps from one of our jobs so she plans on chiseling some artwork into stone this summer.
This summer we have a bunch of big projects in the works!
