I thought a thread that had all the announced Starfinder compa5tible products, and the companies that are planning on / interested in doing such products would be a good resource to have - this is what I have noted so far:

Rogue Genius Games:
Starfarer's Companion
Blood Space and Moon Dust
Fat Goblin Games:
Cosmic Odyssey; Pirates of the starstream
Notsonoble games:
Unnamed Campaign setting (Dark Folk)
Legendary Games:
Legendary Planet modules and support
Frog God Games:
Tome of Aliens
Planetarium
Rusted Iron Games:
Starfarers (ship and crew) line.
Applied Vectors
Adventure chasing artifacts
LPJ Design:
Infinite Space
JBE:
Announced intent to do product - notably races
TJ Lantz
Kickstarter (Redshirts)- Comedy adventure

I was making this list for my personal use, and though "why not post it"

I am writing a couple of products for Rite Publishing's setting, "Nebula Imperious", with Owen KC Stephens as Developer. We haven't announced anything further yet, such as titles, but watch out for additional news from Rite Publishing.

Adding:

[B]expeditious retreat press[B]
Lifepath Character Generation.

This is blurb: If you're looking for an old-school absolutely-not-balanced way of character generation for Starfinder, Expeditious Retreat Press will have you covered. Every character deserved the chance to die during creation! :-)

It's a PDF-only release, coming out as soon as the big release happens.

Excellent list!

Fat Goblin Games has also announced Cosmic Odyssey: Service Bots and Synthetic Companions as well as SOMETHING to do with starships in the new Wonders of the Cosmos line.

I'll add them in, and repost when more time has past. As we get more, I was going to post new "complete" lists, like the initial post.

Gun Metal Games are going to be doing "Descent Engine;" a series of supplements that introduce new races and a huge variety of locations you can use in your Starfinder game.

We'll be launching a kickstarter in late September.

Notsonoble's Gaming's campaign setting as a whole doesn't have a name. But the first snippets are from the Krenn Binary System if you want something to call it.

Also, I'll probably do a expanded character sheet like I do for pathfinder.

I thought I was getting some help, but it's back to just me doing the work. When you add getting married to that, this might be slower than I'd hoped. (But still coming).

First product announced from LPJ design:

Weapons of Starship destruction (PDF). Included - a starship that is a living being. So you Farscape fans that wanted to fly Moya or Talon - there you go!

Between your schedule, Rogue Genius, Frog God and Paizo, I'm gonna be broke for months.

Thanks for formatting and details - the main things I'm listing are formal release announcements, and stuff out in the first few months. Anything beyond that the link Vic posted covers anything more than I could.

You might want to add:

Galaxy's Most Wanted adventure path Chaos Trip Studios / Avalon Games
Part 1: Smuggler's Run
Part 2: Alien Grave Robbery
Part 3: Escape from Zeta Max 7
Part 4: The Heist

Here's what we will have released for day one (Aug 17).

PCGen will be supporting Starfinder, assuming the data monkey's can be whipped into submission. :)

Of course we will be using the Community Policy so not sure if you want to include it here.

I'll add it. Mostly I was listing Books (as that is what I am most interested in) - and this started as copying a list I had for myself.

But it seems more people are finding use out of it - so I will include support stuff like PC gen and Maps too.

Amora Game: Xeno Files series

First pdf release is on August 18th.
Xeno Files: Umvee

Will be a monthly Starfinder/Starjammer pulp-ish e-mag.
Cover can be seen on our FB page.

Thanks.

I have three reasons for doing this-

One if for myself. I want to keep track of all the new stuff coming out, and as it isn't release date we can't search for Starfinder here at Paizo store, or at other places to get 3PP. I already have 3 books per-ordered outside of Paizo product, and plans to get the Starfarer's companion the day it is out.

Two - sort of ties into first - If I'm doing a list for me, why not make it public. The only real difference is including some types of products I don't plan on buying (I don't use per-printed maps, or electronic character creation tools for example), and formatting.

Third - I think the general attitude towards third party products to be a little pathetic. Given a lot of that started with the 3.0 glut, when a the quality of a fair amount of third party material was.... less than it could have been - it made sense then. But these days, most stuff I see from third party is as good and balanced as anything Paizo puts out, and not infrequently better. I'd love to popularize third party products and companies for this new game; find a way to change that attitude.

Well, as far as that goes, I'm working on something you might like. ^^ I just need to get a few of the details settled...

:)

There is on things I really like about how the Starfinder setting is set up. In Pathfinder there were a lot of other settings, but it was difficult to mash together - they were all their own worlds, their own gods, etc. Starfinder the open galaxy and the Vast, most setting that are published by other publishers can be plugged into my core setting. Legendary planets with their gates are off on one side (and what an adventure it would be bringing drift drive to that setting, and taking gates back to the Pact worlds), Blood Space on the other side, and scatter other worlds hither and yon. The third party setting stuff can support the core setting, rather than only being there to offer an alternative - which is nice.

The galaxy is a big place.

A lot of the reason you see a lot more balance and professional looking 3PP products may also be because many Paizo employees are also 3PP creators and there are so many of them offering their professional opinions and creative process via blogs and the like.

Oh, I know. :)

I was the RPG guy at a FLGS during the launch of 3.0 throughout 3.5. I was really into the OGL and such, I thought it was an amazing idea. I was even on a mailing list that was mostly for publishers as I found the idea fascinating.
Near the end of 3.0 - there were companies doing some fantastic stuff, and other that saw the OGL as a way to print money (because it did sell really well), and a lot of inferior product came out. The companies that survived, and popped up since have been, in the main, very good with quality. I was mostly referring to the attitude of people that don't buy much third party because of that glut at end of 3.0 set their view of quality of 3PP and they haven't changed it.

There is also the people that only play the organized play, where you can't used 3PP, as a force of ignoring those products.

Liberty's Edge

Also reducing resources to Paizo only is a rather simple and risk-free way of avoiding a flood of supplements and feats and classes and subsystems, no matter how good these are

Heck, the only things I buy from Paizo are Bestiaries, and that's just for the art. 3rd parties are done far, far more products that are to my tastes than Paizo.

In PF most of what I bought were that kind of player stuff - I never felt like Pathfinder had enough of those things.

In SF I'm looking forward to settings - we have Blood Space, Legendary Planet, a number of individual planet books and frog God's Planetarium. Lots of cool stuff to plug in for PCs to run into in the Vast. So even someone that avoids crunch can have bits to spruce up the setting.

Each of the Legendary Worlds books is a blend of fluff and crunch, with about 60-75% words of history, geography, society, adventure hooks, plus one or two brand-new monsters and a few pages of bonus rules stuff, from magic items and spells to technology, hazards, weather, archetypes, and so on (or even a mini-adventure/set of encounters) that is relevant to that planet.

Plug and play planets!

I just love that approach. It gives us a hook, and can be very unique, but can easily be used in a game using default Pact worlds settings. Hard to use setting material from say Midgard or Neo-Exodus in Golorian, without a lot of work. Starfinder by it's very nature of a huge galaxy to explore means we can drop worlds, systems or even multi system empires in without disturbing the core concepts.

Personally I hope most 3PP do their settings and worlds in that fashion.

Exactly :-)

Question to those that follow this thread.

I initially posted it so that I could keep track (and share that info) on the stuff that is coming up for Starfinder. Now that we have launched and Paizo, DTRPG, and D20 shop all have search functions to bring up the products, would continuing this still be useful.

I was thinking about taking all the already released stuff and putting it under a Spoilers button (because that would be easy, and then not take space) and keep the rest in the normal post for upcoming.

Or would the fact you can get info on products from those other sources negate the need for this thread?

There is one planet I'd love to see that even has it's own Iron Maiden song for it.

You're in luck, it's out now! And you can find it HERE!

The Strange Worlds series is designed to be a one-stop area for you to run certain types of worlds, so while it doesn't present as specific world, it gives you the opportunity to make any of your worlds (in this case a desert planet) come alive, and provide you with a single book for the things you need.
