So I want to make this into a 5th lvl wizard spell.
What I was going to do was.
A.+1 to heal per caster level no maximum
B.Make balls 1/2 your caster lvl

I think I can make it better for it being a 5th lvl spell but I am not sure what to add.

Hmmm every thing I start to come up with has one of these issues:

Too potent healing for a wizard
or too little damage for a wizard using positive energy vs undead
or starts to really alter the spell from its original form/post.
(or all the above)

Some more neutral ideas:
Up the range. I'd probably go with Medium (100ft+10ft/lvl)
Make them give off effective light i.e. 60ft radius light
Faster, better flying characteristics.

I'm guessing you mean the caster can create 1 ball for every two caster levels.
On his initiative the caster can use the Balls to make a ranged touch attack against sun/light sensitive creatures (undead, fungi, molds, oozes and slimes within 120ft of the Ball(s) Balls may strike different creatures but no two creatures may be more than 30ft apart.

(damage problematic with healing ... might need to uncouple the two)


Frankly, as a 5th level spell regardless of class, I'd call it mass cure light wounds that can be used with 'holding a charge' and call it a day.
