Erm, old-school darkvision was originally infravision, AKA thermal imaging.

Other than that, not really. It's like darkvision+.

Works as blindsight, but only sees living creatures.

Don't think so.

Not sure how useful it would be, since there isn't much in the way of game mechanics for how much heat is given off by various things. Lots of "Ask the GM" moments with thermal vision, I'd imagine.

Couldn't find Lifesense in a search for magic items, but blindsense is obtainable. Blind Helm for example. That one is mythic adventures, but it serves as an example.
