Devine Arcane Archer class?

Hi all, i have been playing Pathfinder for about 6 years and really enjoy the vast amount of class customisation available.

I use PCGen to make majority of my characters and have been playing around with the Hybrid classes.

Ive been playing a Hunter in a Rise of tge Runelords campaign and am looking to mix him up a bit. The Arcane Archer peaked my curiosity. Ive never played one and it isnt exactly over powered but it adds a bit of punch to ranged combatants.

Arcane Archer Prerequisites;
BAB +6
Feats - precise shot, point blank shot, weapon focus (longbow)
Abillity to cast level 1 arcane spells.

My Hunter has all of the prerequisites, but the spellcasting has fallen into a bit of a grey area.

The Hunter is a devine caster, seems like a clear cut no, but it is comprised of Ranger (Arcane) and Druid (Devine). Meaning that i can cast level 1 arcane spells from the hunter spell list.

My question is, can a level 7 Hunter prestige into Arcane Archer?

Edit-
PCGen allows me to gain levels in arcane archer even though i am a devine caster

Also Edit-
I have been speaking to the GM running the campaign and he is happy for me to prestige but only apply spells from the Ranger spell list to arrows where applicable with Arcane Archer class features.

Ranger is a divine caster, there is no arcane component to hunter. I couldn't tell you why PCgen let you do this, but it should not have.

I think its because i have access to level 1 ranger spells, which are arcane.

no, firstly, the hybrid classes are their own thing, what their parent classes can or can't do have no bearing on what they can. secondly, rangers are also divine casters. you can't cast arcane spells, so you can't become an arcane archer, without taking a one level dip, or some other means of picking up a way to cast 1st level arcane spells. that all said, you could ask your GM if they'd allow it (assuming you aren't playing pfs)

No, they aren't. Rangers cast divine spells, so are a divine caster.

Quote:
Spells: Beginning at 4th level, a ranger gains the ability to cast a small number of divine spells, which are drawn from the ranger spell list presented in Spell Lists. A ranger must choose and prepare his spells in advance.

Yeah, you have a misunderstanding and PCGen isn't correct at all.
Rangers aren't arcane casters in the slightest.

What version of PCGen are you using? I can't select the Arcane Archer with a Hunter 8 in 6.06.01, 6.07.01, or 6.07.02.

Did you select Bypass requirements at somepoint in the past?

As others have pointed out, Rangers cast Divine Spells, not Arcane Spells. But even if they did cast Arcane Spells, Hunters don't. Hybrid Classes don't work the way that you think that they do. Each Hybrid Class Caster is either Arcane or Divine, not both. Consider the Shaman, which is a Hybrid of Witch (Arcane) and Oracle (Divine). Shamans are not both Arcane and Divine Casters; they are just Divine Casters.
