As long as Feros has me thinking about cleric/assassins, I wrote up an alternate class for the inquisitor to recreate that idea over at my blog.
I also did a short, simple magus archetype to recreate fighter/illusionists at my Patreon, which is linked from by blog.

Ooo.
"For extra old-school, the GM can restrict the cleric/assassin to half-orcs."
Wait what?
The cleric assassin casts spells drawn from the inquisitor spell list or antipaladin spell list, but cannot cast any spell that
Um...
AlsoI just noticed the blog wasn't new but has been around for awhile, will have to binge it later :3

Yeah, it's the elven cleric/magic-users that i am thinking about most recently...
Though the other combos you mention were also neat...
Cleric/Magic Users already have one version out there. Purple Dragon did Prestige Archetypes, expanding out certain Prestige Classes to full classes. Mystic Theurge was one of those, and it's just a Cleric/Wizard. (There's also Blood Mystic, for Oracle/Sorcerers.)
And Rysky, multiclassing like that in 1e and 2e AD&D was always restricted to demihumans, ie, nonhuman PC races. Furthermore, not all races had access to all class combinations, and Half-Orcs were the only ones (IIRC) that had access to the Cleric/Assassin multiclass in 1e.

Yeah, as Kvantum notes, in the older editions, not every race had access to every multiclass combo. For example, human could not multiclass at all (but could dual class, which was different... sort of). My memory is that only half-orcs could be cleric/assassins, though I may be forgetting some other option.
I'm not really advocating it as a good idea. But if someone REALLY misses having some class combos that only one race could access, there are so many classes in pathfinder I don't know that it unbalancing anything to restrict some of these hybrid alternate combo classes to specific races. But that;'s a GM/player discussion, not a rules balance thing.

For years, in fact. :)

I would like a revamp of the old-school specific myth build-it-yourself sphere-picking priest!
Ah the second edition priest, the most complicated class of the game at the time.

Looking at the Afrakena's damage of 1d6+1d4, I kind of wish Pathfinder (and 3.X AD&D) had made more use of different-sized dice rolled together, particularly on the weapon/size upgrade chart.
Jumping from 2d6 damage to 3d6, with a greatsword and enlarge person, for example, has produced a bunch of size-changing min-maxed garbage, IMO, and jumping from 2d6 to 1d6+1d8 instead could have alleviated that nonsense and encouraged more people to just use the weapon they like or find thematic for their character, and not all jump for the weapons that 'enlarge' best, like the longsword (1d8->2d6) or greatsword (2d6->3d6).

New post, a variant bard inspired by the "druidic bard" of 1e, the anruth.
VERY nicely done, Owen (and damned fast, too)! So much so that I suspect you could package this one up and sell it through RGG, which makes it all the sweeter that we're getting it for free here!

I actually began this idea years ago, and tabled it. then I took it out again a few weeks ago and tinkered with it. But I had a burst of inspiration over the weekend, in part from all the old school reading I have done for the new series of posts, that caused me to finish it.
Glad you like it. :)
I probably won't release this as a RGG product by itself, but it could easily get compiled with the rest of the Old School Class ideas and turned into a product.

New post. Having done the anruth [an old school druidic bard], cavalier-paladin, cleric/assassin, cleric/fighter/thief, fighter/magic-user/thief, thief-acrobat, as well as randomly acquired psionics, and even the fighter/illusionist at my patreon, I have gotten to the cleric/ranger.

Nice work with all of the old school combos, Owen. But here's your greatest challenge yet! Can you find a way to Pathfinderize...*drumroll*...demihuman level limits?!
You mean bring a balanced, nuanced, carefully redesigned version of demihuman level limits to a Pathfinder campaign without creating a huge problem?
Sure!"If anyone plays an elf, and the elf isn't a rogue, this campaign only runs to 7th level."
Done!

I really like your Rosie's Rebels post. The powers some have are not something I've seen before(or remember seeing).
That's! That grew out of some research I was doing for my for-fun-only Diesel-Pulp setting I post about occasionally, though it's not directly connected to the previous material.
I didn't post it here as an update, since it's not specifically as Pathfinder thing. If people would rather know about all new posts, that'd be worth me knowing. :)

That aside, I have been reading your blog this morning (from the latest up to as far back as January of this year). To be honest, I already knew of your work from Star Wars with WotC (I deeply thank you for that; I still have copies of all those FAQ, errata, and Web content, with the hope that one day the group that I ran The Tempest Feud with will be able to get together and finish that adventure!). Reading your blog has provided me with additional insight (for gaming and personal subject matters) and understanding of the gaming/publishing industry. In those areas, I realised that my respect for you has increased considerably.
As someone who cares deeply about human resources issues and creating a healthy workplace balance, I am glad that you wrote some articles on your experiences dealing with several important issues as a designer, developer, editor, free-lance, manager, and producer in the gaming industry, including not just about the product designs, but also about the interactions with employers, customers, and fans (online and in reality), engaging in fair practices, and addressing stress/mental well-being issues.
I could delve deeper into what I found engaging and/or useful, but that would take up a lot of space here. Instead, I close out this post with a sincere thank-you and I wish you the best this weekend with the convention (and some much needed worry-free sleep).
Cheers!
