Finally, I have a way to thoroughly punish my PCs for thinking all the old women living outside of town are just 'misunderstood old midwives' or will clearly turn out to be helpful old ladies that townspeople are just ignorant and suspicious of.
"Sorry, suckers! She really is my mother-law..err... I mean an evil hag. Roll a saving throw."
It looks like, on the Player Character front, hags could turn out to be pretty efficient party buffers if they can make the adventuring party into their coven members, since their spells count as a higher level on covenmates and will last longer.
A nice diversity of family choices as well, from the hideously ugly Sea Hag lineage to the almost helpful Hearth Hag line.

Glad you're enjoying it! And "almost helpful" perfectly describes the hearth hags :)
Cheers!

Just bought it. Good read.
Interesting ideas on Hags - my favorite of villainesses.
An easy way to make a Hag more like a Halloween Witch is to simply give her some levels in the Adept. She gains a few spells and a few levels in Craft (Alchemy) and a familiar at 2nd level. Presto Chango, done.
Also, Adept (and all the NPC classes) is ideal for Variant Multi-Classing. They gain nothing special as NPC classes advance; a little something is better than a lot of nothing.
