It seems like one or two people may have misunderstood the point of this thread, so I shall clarify.

This thread was started in an attempt to persuade PFS Campaign Leadership to not implement the nerfs to existing options that are contained in Adventurers Guide, and to ask them to re-evaluate what I view as a damaging policy. As the thread developed a debate began, and I think it is an important debate for us to have.

This thread was intented to pre-empt any changes to Additional Resources. Waiting for changes to happen to the Campaign and then complaining about them is, perhaps obviously, less likely to be useful.

That is true. John hasn't confirmed that this book will replace anything. He commented it was a possibility, but nothing further.

There's a lot of debate over a hypothetical right now.

When should something be debated? After it potentially happens and its too late?

Thus the argument, because people disagree with that intent.

You mean the book that is old and full of outdated material? That's another book that's so severely due for a complete rewrite because of what's changed. Hell my favorite deity somehow changed genders between books thus making their deception a hell of a lot less offensive.

Deities have genders in Pathfinder? Seriously, I always thought that was more an idea imposed by, and for the benefit of, a god's mortal worshipers.

(though I guess that's kinda beside the point; I hadn't realized that the ISWG was so out-of-sync with newer material, probably because I haven't kept up with the new material.)

Yes and no.

Yes: Pathfinder's kinda special in that, theoretically, the deities are just something that a very powerful player character can become. No rules there, just flavor, but you could attain godhood if you really tried (and the GM let you). So, in theory, all the deities had a gender before they became deities (unless their base race lacks gender).

No: Deity can appear as whatever, they can be whatever. With all the magic of the setting, there's no real gender that a deity needs to abide by once they achieve godhood. Most of the deity's will usually appear as a given gender or appearance, but they not required to.

@Wei Ji: The Adventurer's Guide is a dope book which has dozens of character options, items, spells, feats, etc. I'd recommend grabbing it if you like the Pathfinder lore and want to make a character that's designed around an established in-game organization. I have a hard copy myself.
I'd *love* to, but I'm not going to reward a company for nerfing something else I spent money and effort on (finally starting a Lore Warden fighter, in this instance) without careful deliberation and cost/benefit analysis.
Such is your prerogative. There's a lot of fluff in the book as well, if you spend money on such things. The fluff > crunch is why I buy most things in hardback.

And even on the crunch side, there is a lot of new (not reprinted stuff) in the Adventurer's Guide.

Approximately 1/3 of the words in the book were reprints, the rest was new.
