Amulet of Mighty Fists Question

Rules Questions

My question is:

If I purchase the Amulet of Mighty Fists and choose to enchant it with "Vicious" rather than +1 Attack/+1 Damage, are my attacks still considered Magical in an effort to bypass DR.

I believe they would since it is a magical enchantment but I just wanted to verify. Thanks!

I think the answer is no, and it's only an issue on Amulet of Mighty Fists since you're allowed to to place special abilities on it without the normal minimum of a +1 first.

no they aren't magical.

OK, so if I am using this on a Natural Attack using Mooncursed Barbarian I should take the +1/+1 first, and then add an additional enchant later?

Question:

Is Furious and/or Vicious available to place on the amulet and then affect all natural attacks?

yes

Shadow Lodge

Coincidentally a Furious Amulet of Mighty Fists would be considered magical to bypass DR as the weapon’s enhancement bonus is +2 better than normal while raging (i.e. +0 to +2)

So wait, I can enchant it with "Furious", which would then make them magical attacks because of the +2/+2 gained by the enchant?

Does that mean that a Furious Amulet of Mighty Fists could effectively operate as a Furious, +1/+1, Vicious?

Basically, using the +2 from Furious while raging to add +1/+1 and Vicious.

Amulet of Mighty Fists

Price Varies; Aura faint evocation; CL 5th; Weight —

+1 bonus 5,000 gp; +2 bonus 20,000 gp; +3 bonus 45,000 gp; +4 bonus 80,000 gp; +5 bonus 125,000 gp

This amulet grants an enhancement bonus of +1 to +5 on attack and damage rolls with unarmed attacks and natural weapons.

Alternatively, this amulet can grant melee weapon special abilities, so long as they can be applied to unarmed attacks. See Table: Melee Weapon Special Abilities for a list of abilities. Special abilities count as additional bonuses for determining the market value of the item, but do not modify attack or damage bonuses. An amulet of mighty fists cannot have a modified bonus (enhancement bonus plus special ability bonus equivalents) higher than +5. An amulet of mighty fists does not need to have a +1 enhancement bonus to grant a melee weapon special ability._1

no, furious treats the weapon as +2 higher, not giving you +2 to swap out for other abilities.

But you can have furious which lets it beat magic and gives more bang for your buck, and then put vicious on later.

Fair Enough: Enchant it with Furious initially, and then when I raise more gold enchant it with Vicious.

Thanks for the help!
