Is there a mistake in the Savant's spell progression, or do Savants not start getting spells until level 2?

Starts at 2nd level.

Well, Spectrum is pretty much done then. Just have to do equipment and figure out how I'm going to do my familiar.

working on a waves oracle/field agent. Are you cool with the "deep one" curse? Seems pretty thematic
ah, one more question, what does the "greater casting" field agent training do with gestalt?

Important question here then, Shadow. If I went with Savant and chose Druid, with Esoteric Magic (since you list spells OR powers) would I be able to choose things like Nature Bond and Wild Shape, and use the Savant level in place of Druid level to determine the power's specifics? Just want to be clear, sir!

Also...the Lantern Lodge used to have a Weapon Style trait. Would it be possible for me to select that? I understand if not; that faction is no longer around, and it's exotic weapon proficiency in a trait, which is silly.

Question 1: Would you allow a Gillman? They are specifically mentioned in the player's guide.

This is Peet's submission, Weyve Murkwater, Gillman oracle of the shadow mystery (with the Pei Zin Practitioner archetype).

I have not added the Gestalt PRC yet but it will definitely be Pathfinder Chronicler. This will give me a bunch more skill ranks (which will mostly go to knowledge) and will improve my reflex save a bit.

Weyve is a healer and spellcaster. He is built much like a sorcerer or wizard; he is pretty useless in melee but has a crossbow for when spells are not needed. The shadow mystery gives him access to spells like shadow conjuration so he will be pretty versatile when those spells come online.

Question 2: Would you allow a Gillman oracle to use the favored class bonus for humans? There is no Gillman FCB for oracles.

They start with the listed benefits.

Is undine too unusual? I figured there's a few hundred years separating me from my scion, so race shouldn't be too much of an issue in that regard. I mainly picked it because it was in the players guide though, so I don't mind too much if I need to go with something else.

Undine is approved.

PM these questions to me and I'll look later.

Yes, just give me a background write up explaining it inclusive on the PC overall background.

Yes Gillmen are ok.

Yes seems reasonable use Human fcb.

Are the bonuses given by the wayfinders untyped bonuses, or the same as in the description of the correspondent ioun stones?

Also, what is Knowledge: HX? History?

Same type as described by the Ioun Stones.

Correct, Knowledge History.

Question regarding the Savant's spellcasting - which stat does the Savant use as its primary spell casting stat? Is it based on what I choose for my Area of Expertise (e.g. Druid uses Wisdom, Sorcerer Charisma), or do they use a specific stat?

Based on what you choose - Cleric & Druid Wisdom - Sorcerer Charisma and Intelligence Wizard & Psion. I am not looing to re-create the wheel here just a new slant to Gestalt so it's really just the rims on the wheel we are changing ;-)

I know I'm annoying, but... Any word on the weird saving throws some of the PF classes have? They don't seem to follow the classical +2/+0 for good or bad saves at first level.

Are Aasimar an allowed race?

Yep, that was the one piece of feedback I got from Kretzer on his review. I am staying with them. A bit odd I know but I never minded being unconventional.

YoricksRequiem wrote:

Absolutely.

Do we have to qualify for a prestige class on only one side of the gestalt, or can we use both sides? Trying to get a feel for all my options.

Phntm888 wrote:

Qualify for a PRC with the non-Pathfinder side as that is the side I would prefer that people multi-class with while building up the Pathfinder Society Classes through 20 (yes, that means my plan is to explore this game beyond the scope of the AP - what form that will take I will not know for a LONG time).

Level 20, that sounds nice. Never actually been there! Honestly I'd be extremely happy if any game starting at level 1 finished the AP.

Maybe some folks in this thread have got there but closest I've been (after three years) is book 4 of iron gods.

So, the Field Agent still has the Greater Casting choice, giving me the capacity to increase my casting from the base class... which doesn't actually exist, since this now is a base class. Is there something that's now supposed to do but doesn't?

Sometime in the coming days, I'll hopefully get something up for a Scholar//Savant(psion).

Side note: How does Esoteric Magic work with Arcane or Divine spells on a psion?

I havent seen anyone else choose Dreng. He seems like the kinda guy I can work into a background

Talking about that...

I made my story with Marcos, and loved it. I decided to go on with it since I thought I wouldn't have time to change it. Seeing this will go on until September, though, I'll withdraw Marcos and leave it for Monkeygod, as it was my first intention, and work on a different thing with Gregaro Voth (is he also a human? It seems his wiki article was deleted). Conscript/Field Agent, it is.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Just because I was trying to figure out who was taken, this is the list so far:

Adolphus –
Ailson Kindler – YoricksRequiem
Ambrus Valsin - CariMac
Colm Safan -
Dalania Pontius - Michelle AJ
Drendle Dreng - Diomedes Wayfair
Durvin Gest -
Eando Kline –
Escobar Vellian - FangDragon
Gilray Jandivan -
Gojan the Sharp - Joseph Soltz
Gregaro Voth - Jereru
Grandmaster Torch –
Ilnerik Sivanshin – JD Phipps
Janira Gavix -
Koriah Azmeren -
Kreighton Shaine - BeastMasterFTW
Ling Yayao -
Marcos Farabellus – Monkeygod
Old Mage Jatambe - Doomed Hero
Seeker Osprey –
Selmius Foster -
Sheila Heidmarch –
Sheraya Solistar – Zanbabe
Zarta Dralneen –

I'll be submitting (with a connection to Alison Kindler) once I finish up the background.

I'm going to take Sheraya Solistar. Working on it.

(And added myself and YoricksRequiem to the list since it was still editable.) :)

You missed me, I you were. I think I said earlier I'd be taking on Gojan?

Oops, sorry Joseph. You're added now.

This is why I wanted to make as many choices as possible so no one would feel compelled to double up!

Thanks for the list Zanbabe!

Glad this is such a long recruitment Shadow! I gotta work on a CR 10 monster created via the Talented Bestiary for a game here on the boards.

Btw I changed my mind, I'm probably going with Durvin Gest instead.

My character will be Colm Safan's nephew. Still need to finish him, but that's the Pathfinder I'm going with.

Wasn't there a mention about a custom ABP?

Dαedαlus wrote:

Not so much custom as starting the ABP at level 2 instead of level 3. I don't think I mentioned it I Recruitment as it's something that'll not take effect at character creation.

I may have missed it, but what is our starting wealth?

Related, how do you feel about pre-game crafting?

Starting wealth max for the non-Pathfinder class.

The Wayfinder is the Pathfinder Loot.

Pre-game crafting is ok depending on what you are looking to do...

Maybe scribe a scroll or two. We'll see - I may not have the budget for it once I purchase the rest of my stuff. I'm still working on it.

This sounds like a lot of fun.

How do you feel about Locathah? They are detailed in Blood of the Sea (11 rp)

Heh, I'd be interested to see the Backstory for certain!

The basic idea would be that he'd want to set up his own lodge, an aquatic lodge. They focus on Azlanti ruins as most of those are beneath the waves. He'll readily admit that the Gillmen probably have more rights to those discoveries but he is also painfully aware that many are still under the sway of the aboleths and can't be trusted.

He'd be looking at either Durvin Gest, for his link to old Azlant, or Sheila Heidmarch, as she has experience starting a new lodge.

Still looking at what classes I'd be going with. That partially depends on what point buy we will be going with.

Proceed.

Point Buy is on prior page.

Ah yes, I somehow missed that.

A question on the Field Agent: Do you treat your Field Agent level as your Rogue level for the Rogue talents? In addition, are there any other talents that can be selected multiple times besides Skill Specialisation, though possibly with level requirements for each instance (as in, need to be level X before selecting a second time)?

FangDragon switched to Durvin Gest, but Heidmarch is still open. I'll put you down for Heidmarch, but let me know if you want to double up instead.

I'm looking at Gilroy or Adolphis.

I really the concept if the Enlightened Paladin, but not so much on all the mechanics. Bard (with perform oratory) is excellent for showing her noble birth background. I'd also like a bit greater focus on magic, like a full caster paladin really.

Is some flavor of Aquatic Elf or Sea Elf an allowable race, or is the waterbreathing thing too overpowered for this game?

Paizo option: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/races/other-races/more-races/race-points-unknown/aq uatic-elves/

3rd Party option: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/races/3rd-party-races/alluria-publishing/sea-elf/

I have...a concept that I am intrigued with attempting at the moment and I'm unsure exactly how I'm gonna swing it.

But I've been desperately fascinated with pulling a Varisian Bladed Scarf Dancer.

I just gotta figure out exactly how I wanna play the veil wearing, sudden weapon wielding character. I feel it's a Charisma idea, of course dex as well, and maybe Int. Just not sure how I wanna fill it out fully.

Edit:That said, parentage would be Koriah Azmeren.

Extra Edit:Thoughts are currently Magus (Eldritch Scion, Kapenia Dancer) 1/Student of War 1...with continuation into Student of war the rest of the way....and bard the rest of the way on the other side.

I'll be playing Human...which is creepy for me, I rarely do it. I'm really..leaning to trying to pull a Tiefling (Rakshasa Born) but I'm not sure if I can swing it. I have to really look at my Scion for a bit to try and figure out if I can manage. And of course talk to the GM about the slightly unusual race.

The biggest thing, and I think it's unoffically accepted is whether Slashing Grace will work with the bladed scarf, as Kapenia Dancers treat them as one handed weapons...which Slashing grace effect...GM decision? (It won't make or break the character idea just be an added little bit of viability combat wise.)
