"Patron" deity?

Rules Questions

Scarab Sages

Seeking clarity. Can an Oracle have a Patron deity? This is for PFS and it matters as a prerequisite for the Divine Scion prestige class.

Sure. Anyone can have a patron deity. Nothing in the prerequisites says that the character must receive spells from his patron deity.

Yes, just keep in mind that the requirement of having the same alignment as the deity means you'll need to be north of evil.

So then Worship = Patron?

Yeah....aware of that issue for PFS play. Still, the Divine Scion doesn't exactly benefit an evil PC enough to justify the prestige class. (Detect Good:Constant doesn't seem too useful for PFS...).
