What's YOUR recipe for a giant robot?

Homebrew and House Rules

Ok, screw it, I can't keep it inside me anymore, I need my fill for giant robots, mechs and whatnot... and I blame the new Power Rangers movie and the new Voltron series XD

Anyway, what's YOUR recipe for a giant robot, regardless of your inspiration? BTW, ALL books are open, just credit the source please ^_^

For me, I found an interesting one for a mech, similar to a Gundam or a Titan:

Step 1: Take an Udaeus (Bestiary 4); For your information, an Udaeus is a hoplite-like humanoid warrior with innate martial training and the ability to get an energy resistance with a ritual.

Step 2: Apply the Gigantean template (Advanced Bestiary [Pathfinder]); You essentially have a Colossal warrior... at CR 10, according to how CR is increased for humanoids.

Step 3: Apply the Iron Titan class (The Secrets of the Iron Titan); THis... is a class, not a race. Case-in-point: they even say that humans, androids and dwarves are the most common races for this transformation.

Step 4: Pick the Passenger construction build (The Secrets of the Iron Titan); With this, you essentially have a pilot seat aside the chest cavity.

There you go! You have a Colossal Iron Titan with martial proficiencies ^_^ Ok, granted, an iron titan cannot "wear" armor (read: cannot get an armor bonus from any source), but the natural armor can make it up for a while. The Udaeus has an racial +1 natural armor bonus, +14 for the Gigantean and +2 for the iron titan class (at lvl. 1). Oh, and it can wield a shield, so... ;)

I'd just take either the Juggernaut Robot or the Annihilator Robot, much less work.

Or you could apply the robot subtype to a stone or iron colossus. I did both.

Take a golem or similar construct.
Expand it to gargantuan size.
Give it the power to heal by absorbing the materials it is made of.
Give it a cockpit that allows it to access all the feats and class abilities of it's driver.

Or just get an Apparatus of Kwalish. It has arms, legs... even a tail!

I'm thinking of big golems that fire Apparatus of Kwalishs as bullets.

construct type, i think theres a 3rd party book with the kiju template(or is it subtype i cant remember)

There is indeed in Pathway 49 (Rite Publishing). However, you are wrong about the template, as it can only be applied to living creatures... not that you cannot make it so though ;)

so 1st apply the template onto a living creature then apply the warmachine template which turns said living creature into a construct problem solved and then you have a robot buddy that is not only ginormous but deals damage as if he were an additional 2 size categories larger

Take a cannon golem, apply the robot subtype, add the golem armor enhancement and maybe giant template. Equip with whatever technological or magical items you want for flight.

This is my recipe:

Basically you cast Possess Object spell (class or scroll/wand) on an object.
It becomes an Animated Object that you are "riding".

Personally? Probably Gonzo 2's Giant Robot rules.

You could enchant the spell into the mech, or have mech pilot as a bloodline. Perhaps the pilots are all descended from the pilots who used the recently rediscovered mechs. Perhaps a device in some ruins mutated in the pilot trait to anyone who stumbled upon it.

I have thought of using the rules in Ships of Skybourne to build giant robots and such.

d20 Future has rules for Mecha. It would be pretty easy to convert to PF.
