At 1st level I'd keep a few javelins on hand rather than use a bow. Twice the damage once you count strength bonus, and you don't have to drop or stow the shield.

Why Dodge? Are you working towards something or are you just taking it for +1 AC? If it's the latter you might want to plan a little further in advance, feats arrive too slowly to waste.

Well I took dodge since I planning on taking +1 since the campaign is city one and the Endurance feat wont be neededand I focus on the Longsword since there is the Disciple of the sword feat to gain the Greater Weapon Focus and Spec. I already planned out to Level 17 for my feats.

3rd Weapon Focus Longsword
3rd Percise Strike

5 Disciple of the Sword

6 Outflank

7 Sheild Bash

9 Greater Weapon Focus
9 Back 2 Back

11 Extend bane

12 Improved Back 2 Back

13 Greater weapon Spec

15 Extra Bane
15 Cooridnate Defences

17 Vital Strike

Where is this "Disciple of the Sword" feat from? i cant seem to find it on the d20psfrd

There is a campaign trait from Kingmaker called Sword Scion that gives you a +1 trait bonus on all attacks and combat maneuvers with longswords and Aldori dueling swords.

Are traits from other Paths allowed?

@Dwarftr: Disciple of the Sword.

@Jem'Nai: There are more feats than Dodge and Endurance out there. Also, a feat on shield bashing (I assume that's meant to be Improved Shield Bash at L7) is largely wasted if you're not getting into two-weapon fighting. I doubt you're going to need Extend Bane at L11, let alone Extra Bane at L15, and getting Vital Strike at L17 is incredibly pointless.

That makes 5 feats you could potentially use to build towards something, at levels 1, 7, 11, 15 & 17. As one example you could take Combat Expertise, Swordplay Style, Improved Feint, Swordplay Upset and Swordplay Deflection. Or, perhaps you could take Heavy Armor Proficiency (you have no physical skills), Power Attack, Improved Overrun, Charge Through and Greater Overrun. If you particularly want Dodge you could build on it with Weapon Trick (Weapon and Shield), Mobility, Sidestep and Juke.

Basically 5 feats building on each other will be better than 5 random feats. Other combinations are certainly possible.

Also you probably want the Coordinated Charge teamwork feat once you reach +10 BAB.

@ Smilodan this is for Curse of the Crimson Throne not Kingmaker.

@ Avr okay skip shield bash and the bane feats but as inquisitor heavy armor kills my stalwart at 11. 1th level take Combat expertise, 7take Swordplay style Longsword, Improved feint at 11, Sword play Upset 15 and Deflection feat.

Wouldn't heavy armor done in mithral count as medium? So you could have a mithral fullplate, and stalwart should still function. You just need proficiency with heavy armor is all. Mithral Fullplate of Speed would work lol

I believe mithril will bypass the stalwart penalty and by level 11 you should have that. What is the purpose of character? If you dont plan to use a shield you could two hand the longsword and pick up power attack. Maybe move the +2 to str. Honestly though if you are going tank I would look at the warpriest especially the arsenal archetype.

@ ekibus I going to be the offtank since we will have Paladin who playing healer and Tank.

"offtank" is a bit vague. Your group seems pretty powerful, a exploiter, mesmerist, pyro, rogue and a pally. If you dont plan to take attacks all the time I wouldn't focus so much on defense. I would keep a shield when needed but I would go longsword with power attack, move str to 18 and aim to hit hard. The party seems to be missing a full divine caster. But really it comes down to what your goal is. I'm currently looking at a Battle oracle with spirit guide. Skill of arms, weapon mastery, war sight heck even Maneuver Mastery.. you could be a really nice off tank while being a full caster

Pathfinder Adventure, Lost Omens, Maps, Rulebook Subscriber

@ ekibus Yes we dont have full healer but we usually get something to help with that ie Portable Cleric Wand of CLW since I and the Pally can use it without a umd Check plus at 2nd I taking CLW as my spell. Also its 25 point buy.

Instant judgment and branded for retribution are wonderful for inquisitors. Your int seems too high. You really don't need that many skill points. You have a rogue to do the skill monkey

I'm not knocking the inquisitor, I have a level 9 archer one and the gm literally told me the last session who is dying? So inquisitor is a solid choice...BUT when you look at the party composition I just worry that you wont have a actual role (your knowledge rolls will not be as good as the wizard's and the rogue will have more skills...etc)

I mentioned a full divine caster...not a healer. Dont get me wrong that would be the biggest benefit to the party (heal, restorations removal of issues) But also there are other spells the wizard might not have that might come up. The wand is good...but trust me there are times a actual heal might turn the battle. Not to mention you would be a pretty nice off tank. For example ( i went to level 5 to look at something) I went with a battle oracle and took the nature spirit. At level 5 I could cast barkskin, I could have full plate along with all martial weapons, Could cast I would have all summon natural allies and all cure spells automatically added not to mention some other ones. BEFORE I start choosing spells. At level 7 I would have a full blooded animal companion 1 feat would grant me weapon focus, improved crit and greater weapon focus. Not having specialization would suck but I would survive :) As a disclaimer I'm doing research for my own character just showing a example

But here is the big thing, my advice is kinda eh because I'm not sure what you want to do. Off tank could be handled by any class so what else do you want to do?

I kind of disagree, an inquisitor does have a use for all the non-knowledge skills listed on their own person rather than on someone else - and as far as identifying monsters goes the wizard is extremely unlikely to be better.

Yes and no, Depending on how the inquisitor is built it is really tough to keep up on all knowledge skills AND everything else. A wizard doesnt have as many distractions and their main stat is influencing knowledge. I'm not saying he wouldnt be bad at it, but the wizard will most likely edge him out sooner or later. Again my advice is rather flimsy due to know knowing the point of the character. BUT imo I would like a character in a group that would be able to bring something nobody else would. A inquisitor is more a bit of everything, which might be fine or is this a exercise of what would benefit the party? Or are we just building a tank?

@ Ekibus My character going to be Sword Board off tank ie Striker high DPS with mild buffing of the party.

In all honestly I've tried to make a sword and shield striker but this wouldnt be the build for it. Best you could do is keep the sword and two hand it until you know you are about to hit and get that shield out. As for buffing...inquisitor isnt really made for group buffs..self buffs sure.

If you want to be a offtank buffer go with a Arcane duelist bard.. you could grant the whole party +1 hit and damage, pick up lingering performance and toughness. With spells like saving finale, the ability to cast haste so the wizard isnt wasting his breath... you get arcane strike so you could get at least a small buff there for damage. By level 5 you could cast with a sword and shield (which btw the inquisitor cant do) you get a bunch of bonus feats. Probably wont do as much damage as a inquisitor but you would be buffing the whole party.

A slayer would be a solid offtank/striker but no buffing the party. Maybe if you go vanguard but not sold on it. Here is a quick level 5: 18 str, 14 dex, 14 con, int 12, 14 wis and 10 cha. By level 5 you should have two weapon fighting (from ranger combat) improved shield bash...maybe go step up and following step maybe toughness. There is a trait that could make the heavy shield a light bashing weapon (drawing a blank this is a fast build) But at level 5 in basic gear you could have a ac 20 and when you hit with studied target you could be doing +9 1D8+6 +1d6 followed by the shield at +9 hit and 1D4+4+1d6..if they make a 5 foot you move up with them. Thats the closest I could think of a tank/striker Level 6 would be better at +10/5 longsword 1D8+6+2d6 and then the shield at +10/+5 1D4+4+2D6...wow that wasted 30 mins...

The trait is shield trained.
