Round 4

A massive huge reptile of somekind explodes from the sands charging forward... I am assuming Tiesa is in the back of the group. It snaps at Tiesa, this crocodile is nearly half again as large as a normal crocodile, and seems to smile with its long, toothed mouth as it lunges forward. It bites with a 20 foot reach!

You know all about saltwater crocodiles, including their death roll and tail slap. You believe it won't be able to use its death roll in the sand, you hope!

Tiesa gasps and notices the gigantic crocodile just in time, leaping out of the way of its toothy maw. For a moment she freezes—caught between a rock and a hard place, she is unsure what to do. Fortunately the hydra collapses and Grim rushes to her rescue, freeing her from her indecision.

“It’s a variant of a saltwater crocodile that swims through sand like a land shark!” she warns. “It can’t use its death roll on land, but we’ll need silver or acid to kill it.”

She draws her dagger from its sheath while backing up behind the protective dwarf. “Like this mithril dagger,” she makes eye contact with Davod while holding out the weapon for him to take and use.

“Can ya spare any more healin’ for Davod?” the half-orc asks Vivi and Grim, while pointing at the rogue’s remaining bloody wounds. “He still looks like a crocodile ate him.”

She nods at the suggestion of shelter. “Stone hut it is. That’ll at least give us some protection from the beasties ‘round here. Maybe provide some clues ‘bout this place too.” With a word and a gesture the wizard casts a spell (Floating Disk) to help her travel over the sand more easily … and to protect her in case of further attack. LOL!!! No the hut has a whole bunch of magic upon it. The items referenced are on the way to the hut.

The whistle has 3 charges per day. 1 charge and summon monster I, 2 charges uses summon monster II, and all three charges you can use summon monster IV. It is keyed to birds, so that is one limiter.

The Bronze coin appears to be a coin of unluck, a curse upon anyone that picks it up.

The obsidian shard is a figurine of wondrous power! It has three uses. First you summon a dire boar as a mount, second you can summon the minotaur to fight for you, the third is it can cast bull strength 1/hour. It is in its large form with a simple cantrip cast upon it, it will revert to its tiny figurine form.

A lot of the magical plants are the same:
Liferoot, 6 doses, can work as metamagic feats for creation of potions of cure.
Purple haze Lillies, 7 doses, ground up into a powder and acts like charm person or an essential ingredient to an elixir of love.
HashWeed, 13 doses, it extends a natural high, so used with pesh means it lasts twice as long!
Cyan Berries, 5 doses, they feel frozen to the touch but can be eaten easily. It adds damage per die of cold spells.

Now for the stone hut!

The hydra’s nest is, in fact, in a small cave under the nearby pier at the Waypoint. An investigation of this cave reveals a low mound of sand, vegetation, and partially eaten meals (including a pair of half-eaten
gnolls). Between them, the gnolls possess 10 pieces of coral worth 10 gp each—their armor and weapons are ruined or missing.

As you march through the sand to the stone hut you see a turtle flop up upon the shore and apparently trying to reach you. If you stop near it stops.

The stone hut and stone pier are called a Waypoint, which enters you mind as you enter the hut. The end of the pier is crumbling, blackened, and ruined. As if the last few feet was burnt away with a massive fire.

In the hut you see good quality furnishings including posh pillows, carpets, blankets, and bronze basins. In two of the basins are fruit and fish as the other two are filled with liquid; clear fresh water and rum. As you soon find out, you take anything out of the hut and the items dissolve into nothing.

Tiesa:
You see all sorts of magic in the hut, on the hut, and on the pier. 70% of the spells are preservation magic and 30% are conjurations. You do notice a bishop chess piece that faintly bares magic. Picking it up a digital chess board appears before you and the black bishops glow before remaining on the board. The whole army of white stands ready on the other side of the board.

There is a magical bedroll tucked away though and Tiesa can easily identify it as a restful bedroll.

You also find Bloodroot all over the hydra's lair. It has regenerative properties, many uses, 23 doses.

"A Coin of Unluck!"

"Given that I am the only one who can handle it, can someone open a container for it? This is like having an instant trap for thieves!!"

Jyn grins at Davood, "I meant 'bad' thieves of course!"

The coin begins to float as it is wrapped in Jyn's telekinetic embrace

"Unluck?!!" Davod exclaims, as the desnan pulled his shirt over his nose, like the coin had some infectious disease. The suli found a bronze jar and removed the cap, dumping whatever contents were within, so the half-janni could deposit the horrible coin.

“Nice ta see ya ‘gain,” Tiesa greets the normally invisible flying Djyn. “Ya see anythin’ flyin’ ‘round while we were fightin’ the croc and the hydra?” She assumes the geniekin’s absence from the battle is due to some unannounced wayward scouting.

The wizard points out the other various magic items as she pockets them. “Summonin’ whistle, for the birds. Buncha magic plants.” She gathers all but the liferoot, with a greedy gaze upon the hashweed in particular. “And a fig’rine of wondrous power!” she exclaims as she digs out the shard. As she touches the horn, it shrinks to a miniature statue of a minotaur. “This’ll def’nitely come in handy.”

At the hydra’s nest she points out the valuable coral pieces and bloodroot scattered about the lair. “S’posedly the bloodroot has regenerative properties.”

Sense Motive on Turtle: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29

Tiesa:
You think the turtle can listen to you. Though it has just been walking forward with its fins through the hot sand.

Tiesa likely stops the movement of her disc to investigate the turtle. With that the turtle spits up a miniature green bottle that looks like it has paper inside.

Jyn deftly moves the coin into the bronze jar ...

To be completely friend Tiesa, I think I was more disoriented than the rest of you. I only made one visit to the plane of fire when I was much younger; we were visiting my mother's cousin, who was marrying an efreet and we weren't really sure why. We did become more sure, but my mother said never to speak of it ... in any case, fire realms are tough for me, bad memories AND bad magic. I am here now though, fully adjusted."

“Glad to have ya here, and fully adjusted,” Tiesa flashes an easy, tusk-filled grin at Djyn. “I s’pose no ‘xperience wit’ planar travel’s better than a bad ‘xperience. Hope the efreet worked out for yer relative?”

The half-orc pauses as the turtle approaches, as if she’s getting some strange vibe from the reptile. Wrinkling her brow, she peers at it intently, and then even more intently at the just vomited bottle. She casts her arcane sight on both (Cast Detect Magic; view turtle and bottle) before cautiously picking up the bottle and extracting the paper inside.

“Can … can you understand me?” she hesitantly asks the turtle. “Nod if you can.” The wizard bobs her head up and down, mimicking the desired motion, then carefully unfurls the parchment to read whatever is written upon it.

Not been to the Abyss or Elysium yet, certainly not to Dis either. Would be a bad idea, the average denizen of A-town can kill me or enslave me, and its not good to be in a place where your strength is below average. Gorrums halls are funnier for sure, I dont plan on ever visiting hell.
She chuckles

Hmm, A-town, City of Brass, Dis, Axis. Funny how none of the 4 big trade metropoli of the multiverse are run by do-gooders

Once the evil coin is in the bronze jar, Davod walks the jar outside and leaves it half buried in the sand, like covering up your waste.

Dusting his hands off just to be safe, Davod reenters Waypoint, sits down and start peeling a big orange to eat.

The turtle and the bottle detect as magic.

k arcana DC 23:
You know the bottle is being affected by the transmutatiin spell shrink item.

The turtle nods it's head and lifts a fin to wave at you.

Once you pick up the bottle it grows in size so that you can easily get the paper out to read.
