That Elf/Drow pick is absolutely GORGEOUS.
Also, in case you need some more artists if this does well I know of a couple :3
I'm happy to talk to other artists. Pm me with a link to your/their work. Peter Bradley did the Amazons and drow. He mainly works for Troll Lord Games. I'm licensing those pics. They are available as prints from his Ravenchilde.com site. He is doing new art for the project, too. He worked on Rogue Mage and Strange Brew with us.

Rysky wrote:There wouldn't happen to be a lady/lad of negotiable attention archetype for the Vigilante that's very good at gleaming information from patrons would there? Or more talents (for any class really) like Companion to the Lonely, where you get buffs for after moments of intimacy?Well, since the book is currently limited to Core classes, there won't be any Vigilante support - at least not until we hit some stretch goals.
That said, there are Core class archetypes that do what you're describing.
Yay!

By claiming it's "3.75e" indirectly refers to Pathfinder. Given the idea that it's suppose to be compatible with it, how is this going to work with the PF Compatible OGL licenses? Or is this going to be closer to a True20 OGL licenses or just regular OGL.
Can you claim to be compatible by skirting around it with a different name even though it's using the ruleset?
Let me rephrase, Can you publish a book that is an extension of and implies that it uses the rules of pathfinder without using the compatibility licenses?
Not be a stickler, but this is in the Pathfinder compatible section, even though I know it quote "is" using the ruleset, but won't make it past the agreement.
Should this actually be in the "Third-Party Pathfinder RPG Products" section of the board or should it be moved to another section?
*not trying to rustle feathers, just want the project to be compliant and legal with OGL standards since it can't technically be PF Comp
*already a backer*

The problem is with the Pathfinder Compatibility License, rather than any OGL stuff, which is why they're very carefully not claiming it's Pathfinder compatible (though this forum thread is cutting it a bit fine, I suspect). PCL says no "adult themes" and this book is absolutely "adult themed", but I'm also pretty sure that being indirect about it is okay as long as they never (EVER) directly indicate Pathfinder Compatible or display the Pathfinder Compatibility logo.

And I get that part.
But can a publisher use the rule set and not have the PFC licenses associated with the book (regardless of the theme)?I'm curious how they are going to list the OGL.

Yes, because the rules are OGL themselves. We can list in Section 15 what books we pulled from--we have to to be compliant with the OGL license. We just cannot claim compatibility or use the logo. We are very aware of what we cannot do. Thus OGL 3.75 is our claim for rules.

Daww, I remember when this had its formative roots in the Homebrew section.
Well done Will and Margherita for finding a formal venue! Wishing you guys all the best on the Kickstarter!!

On all that legal stuff...
I know basically nothing about the legalities (I'm new to actually publishing things for money and not for fun on forums). However, I seem to recall that something similar happened with the Book of Erotic Fantasy.
If I remember the story right, the BoEF was written by Wizards of the Coast staff with the intent of being published as an official D&D product - until they ran into a nearly identical legal bump and had to go third party.
Now, that story is complete hearsay - I have no idea if it is true or not, but I remember being told that because I noticed that the author of the BoEF was a Wizards of the Coast employee and commented on it to a friend (who then told me the story above).
Again, no idea if it is accurate or even really the same legal bump, but if both are true... well, I guess we really are following in the Book of Erotic Fantasy's footsteps.
That makes me weirdly proud.

Thanks!
We were just saying in an interview yesterday talking about how Margherita and I met in that thread! Ah, memories.

Ok, 100 backers get EVERY backer a free Impassioned Talented Adventurer exclusive from Margherita Tromontano! I'll have a Talented Adventurer line coming out with Rogue Genius Games that Will Wells and Margherita pulled together as authors and developers. The exclusive will take a sneak peek into the sex lives of the characters and use rules material from The Book of Passion. These versions will not be for sale elsewhere, though the normal ones will.
I've also added an Easy Lover level for those not wanting to spend more than $10 on a b&w version of the final book.
Please help us spread the word!

(Bumping the thread... hehe, bumping...)
Can I ask more about archetypes, please?
Also what are the chances of there being feats for when around/protecting your loved ones?
Among the core class archetypes:
Stilnovista (bard): love is divine and your beloved is an angel- sometimes literally!Sacred Prostitute (Cleric): divine healing takes many forms!
Breeder (Druid): who says cows and horses can't breed together?
Kundalini (Monk): beware the power of Tantra!
Defender/Liberator (Paladin): paladins of love are not always lawful.
Streetwalker (Rogue): she does it for money. And informations.
Marriage Feats (a new feat type) allow expanded synergy with your beloved(s).

I suppose I'll have to check my budget. ^_^
It's going to be tight, but if I stretch, I might be able to fit it in. Hopefully it isn't too much for me to handle.
Must...

FAILS
I think you'll be satisfied with whatever comes to you from this, and expect you'll find some of it leaves you breathless.
Still, it's going to take some time, which should help heighten the anticipation and the release will be... climactic.

True, but since I'm going to be in the middle of an accelerated move for the next week and a half, I won't have as much time to dedicate to stalking the kickstarter page...or drinking outside of airports for that matter.

Ah, darn. I refuse to use Facebook (I really don't like them, as a company) so it's a shame there's no way to see the preview artwork otherwise.
But at least I get to be surprised when the book comes out!
The non-erotic artwork will be previewed through updates. I just posted a beautiful picture that Peter Bradley did.
When we get to the files for commenting for those backers, we will have a locked down website and can post some things there to preview, as well.

Will and Margherita were recently interviewed about the book, too. Check it out.

I know your pain. I too had avoided facebook... until this project began. Since I need to answer questions, I had to join - for the greater good.
