The past few months have been rough for almost everyone, and one of those rough spots was in the freeze on political commentary on this forum and others.
To shut down an avenue of discussion seems counter-productive at times, but in proper discourse, it is necessary and required to set parameters.
It can be exceptionally difficult to do so, especially when parties involved in such discussions have stopped attempting to discuss and have instead reverted to a 'back and forth' of tired arguments, recycled facts, and uncertain realities.
That the Moderation team and affiliated parties took the time, took a step back, re-evaluated the situation, and brought forth the current guidelines is impressive.
There are many other communities out there that would simply revert to a 'ban/remove' route rather than encourage a solid enlightening discussion of facts*.
Whether we agree or not with one another on any of a number of topics, please join me in thanking the staff for taking this time to get this done, if you wish.

The Mod Team has a tremendously difficult job, and Inappreciate them doing what they can to help make this a good, welcoming place.
