Wings of the Ocean - Flocks of Ylimancha

One of the things I love most about Golarion is that there is a ton of stuff left unwritten. It allows me to expand on things in my games and invent new things to further enrich the game world. A part of the setting that always interests me are the divine being they have and how the interact with their followers and each other. On one of the Pathfinder FB pages I play a little game of creativity where I ask about what kind of character you would make to follow a god. This week I'm looking at Ylimancha, the Empyreal Lord of coastal waters, fisherfolk, and flying creatures.

Sitting at our theoretical gaming table, our GM turns to us and says, "All of the characters must be followers of Ylimancha, although they do not need to be divine casters." What character do you make? Who is he? Why has he chosen Harborwing as his patron? In what ways does he further the Empyreal Lords‘s goals? Why would he be attracted to this beings doctrine?

DOT.

Thanks!

Ooh, love me some Empyreal Lord stuffs.

Well, rangers are an obvious choice. Waterways for favored terrain, archery combat style. Lot of bow-oriented builds are appropriate, like the divine marksman. That she's a NG figure makes her appropriate for druids and hunters as well. Sea Druid if I'm remembering stuff from Ultimate Magic right. Sea Singer bard is another good choice.

As far as other options go, I imagine a lot of transmutation spells (a little obvious for an agathion) and especially flight-granting abilities. Also stuff to guard against enchantments (as part of the Pazuzu thing. Gotta keep away from that corrupting influence).

Oh, and also... Tengu!

Good stuff. I was thinking Tengu as well. Any Aasimar goes the wings route. Maybe even coastal Strix.

I did write up one of the sects as a specific group that goes out of their way to fight Pazuzu. All of home have the goal of finding a way to fly.

We just rolled up 4 Tengu brothers who follow Ylimancha. We are about to do Jade Regent. Monk Samurai Cleric and Druid.

I could easily imagine a rivalry between her and Uaransaph, the daemonic harbinger of falling.
