Fly using STR

Advice

One of my players wants to play a Strix with a super high STR. I was wondering if there was a way she could use STR instead of DEX for flight.
If there is no way to do that normally, what would be the ramifications of house ruling that she can?
I don't want her to changer character to high DEX, both because she would enjoy that less, and it would infringe on the high DEX rogue we already have.

why would she need a high dex? A lot of what you do flying isn't hard and not everything needs a check. Just put ranks into it and maybe a small magic item if needed.

If you're wanting to switch it that sounds like a trait, something like
Strong wings
You use brute strength to power through complicated flying maneuvers, use str instead of dex for fly checks.

Would you have to make a fly check to carry someone/something while flying?

Not as such.

IIRC, you need to be unencumbered (light load) to fly in the first place. As long as the weight of your pal doesn't put you over that, no problem.

In any event, the result of a failed fly check is usually the obligation to move straight ahead at half or more of your fly speed. Not a major problem.

only mounts need a light load for flying a pc does not
