Kytons, and what you know about them

Hey guys, I'm running a cleric of Zon'Kuthon in a campaign, and I'm pretty close to getting summon planar ally (standard version).

That being said, what I've noticed is that there really isn't that much being said about Kytons; so I'm hoping you guys can help me compile a useful little catalogue of what's known about them, or what can be inferred.

(For instance, why the hell are _all_ Kytons completely immune to cold? They don't utilize it in any way, and its an element that really has nothing to do with the plane of shadows.)

What does electricity have to do with the Abyss or acid with Abaddon? Not much, but that's what the main outsider species of those planes are immune to.

If you need a fluff reason play up a connection between Kytons and whatever outside the multiverse dimension that Dou-Bral visited to become Zon-Kuthon. It's probably not temperate there.

There's a surprising amount of indirect information about the kytons in the ostiarius page on the PFSRD. Granted, it's a bit biased in favor of the kytons, but it sheds light on their motivations.

An absence of light typically also indicates an absence of heat, hence cold. If you look at things from the plane of Shadow, such as creatures with the Shadow Creature template, they gain resistances to cold and electricity.

If you're in a Golarion campaign, then the [url-http://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Kyton]Pathfinder Wiki[/url] is a good place to start. The link that Simeon provided also has some good stuff for grasping how they deal with mortals.

You don't really hear the phrase "hot dark" that much. Whereas cold and darkness have always been thematically linked.

Kyton and What we know;

Kyton are an outsider species that at one point in time was bound to hell as embodiments of depraved and selfish thoughts.

Kyton escaped and, whether directly or indirectly, moved to the Shadow Plane.

Souls do not normally become kyton but they have process to turn mortals into them.

A kyton typically begins as an Evangelist Kyton (if they died and their souls were taken to the shadow plane, or if rumors are true can be said to be half-kyton in origin), but Apostle kyton do exist (if they made the conversion in life.)

Kyton have the unique ability to alter themselves, cleaving and melding flesh in order to advance. This process can even lead them to becoming demigods in their own right.

Kyton do not find difference between pain and pleasure, and seek to better themselves and to enlighten others of their truths.

Kyton do not share an origin with Zon-Kuthon, but most are utterly devoted to him at this point in time, though they have those who serve others

Kyton are no strangers to technology and have a presence on multiple planets within the shadow plane.

Kyton are on good terms with devils in spite having once been prisoners of hell.
