Reign of Winter campaign seeks replacement GM

Recruitment

Hi there. Our GM has decided to leave the game, actually all of his games I believe, for personal reasons. We've got a good group who'd all like to continue on.

We're still on book one.

We've taken down the bandits and freed the Lady, recruited Tenpenny Tacey who subsequenlty was the party's first casualty, and we're about to approach Baba Yaga's hut.

If it sounds interesting, feel free to take a look at the game thread.

I looked at your original post but it appeared you had a new GM and were running. Is Deevor just a temp GM?

I have run RoW for my RL group and have much experience running games on the boards also. Had numerous games until about a year ago, when I had a job change that necessitated a hiatus. I am a 3-star PFS GM as well, some of that from PbP, some from RL.

With my job situation under control, I have been thinking about getting back into 1-2 games, and wouldn't mind taking it on if you still have a need.

My posting rate probably wouldn't be more than 1-2/day simply because of the time commitments I already have. Those posts would generally be between 9-12 Central time.

Deevor is a player, he/she stepped in to assist for a stopgap measure.

I can possibly assume GM duties. I'm currently the GM of another AP, Wrath of the Righteous, which I've been doing for a little over a year. Feel free to look at that thread to get a sense of how I roll.

I am familiar with the Reign of Winter AP. I have the books and maps and have played through into the second book using a group of self-made PCs just to get familiar with it and to tide me over while I was unable to do much gaming elsewhere. I used D20Pro to run the combat. I like the AP and could step in with relatively little prep time.

I have been doing things a little differently than your first GM. To speed the game along, I make a number of the rolls for the PCs (with the PCs able to see the rolls made for them). I roll perception checks, initiative, knowledge rolls for monster lore, saving throws, etc. I keep maps as drawings in Google docs. I post initiative order and keep a running record of past actions and active effects, damage, etc. We've made good progress, getting through about 3/4 of the first book in one year.

I'm currently in a few other games as a player, but most of these games are not moving very fast, so I think I could keep up a post a day or more. My work situation is fairly friendly to posting every day. I teach at a university four days a week, but my teaching duties are not time consuming nor does my schedule change much, teaching the same thing term after term. I'm in a stable situation and likely to keep playing for years to come.

I've been roleplaying since first edition D&D came out and have been playing Pathfinder since it began. I have been playing Play-by-Post for a few years now, as well as PFS games. I'm know the system very well.

So take a look at my WOTR campaign (Link to WOTR thread) and let me know if you would like me to GM. Seems like a capable group of players and PCs. I think I would enjoy working with you.
