Bump, because we need to get to 333 and we're just a few short.

330) A dog with a roll of parchment in its mouth is sitting at the side of the road.

But, the numbering got messed up earlier:

265. The party stumbles upon a giant bee's nest. Turns out, it's abandoned, and giant wax moth larvae are chewing out its remains and ignoring the PCs.

266. A farmer is removing stones from his field, but has caught a fever. He asks the PCs for help to get the job done. Bonus points if they succeed the checks to keep at it long enough per day to finish it on time. Bonus points if they manage to remove that really large boulder that was there since forever.

267. A hermit praises the wonders of a magical bird, offers a reward for it. If they catch it, he cooks it and shares it with them. It has nothing magical, just tastes really good.

268. A winery owner argues with a client over whether or not fruit wine can be called "wine" at all or if the title is reserved to grape beverages.

deuxhero
269: A noble's estate manager hires the party to find out what is causing rumors of his charge turning tricks in the red light district despite perfect alibis for all times the charge was supposedly spotted.

This could lead to loads of possible reasons. Shapeshifters, illusion, look-alike, deliberate lies for slander etc.

Kobold Cleaver
266. A black bear harassing a honeybee hive in a bee tree.

[er, Kobold, shouldn't this one be #270? :( --LB]

Quote:

267. Related to #266, a bear or other dangerous predator that has passed out after eating a particularly filling meal. Bonus points if the meal was a sentient creature.

Ciaran Barnes
268. After the low-level PCs perform a deed of heroics (probably for an unreasonably low sum of gold), the town puts together a parade and other festivities to honor them. They all get a +2 circumstance bonus on Diplomacy checks in that town, unless they turn into jerks.

269. A score of pilgrims is eating and resting in the middle of a field, many miles from civilization. They haven't yet had any trouble on their journey, but that could change when they enter the foothills in a day or two.

270. A well-to-do Elven diplomat (with family and personal guard in tow) is stuck at a washed out bridge and the river is too wide and swift to safely cross. The caravan does not travel quickly so heading north to the next bridge could set them a whole week behind schedule.

So, we actually should be up to 333 by now, or even 334, because of the number glitch? :(

132. In the middle of a snowstorm, the party runs into a small homestead. The family within tells them that one of their children went out before the blizzard started. The PCs are high enough level that a snowstorm isn't likely to kill them, but can they find the child before it claims their life?

Bonus points if she's a frost hag changeling. Double points if anyone starts to sing,"Let it go!"

More asylum stuff.
331. A bathtub, covered with dried blood stains.
332. A hanged man, floating in mid air. You can pass right through this haunt and it won't disappear.
333. A wheelchair starts following the party. Bonus points to anyone who accepts the free ride.

Yep, Dragoncat hit 333.

With Goth Guru's new contributions, 336.

In an effort to clear up the number confusion and start fresh:

337. The party is traveling in a wide, cultivated valley. They approach a village, stretched out on top of a ridge (as to not intrude on the farmland below). The road to the village passes the main well, lying below the ridge. The well is a social gathering point for the villagers (particularly women, if this part of your game world has such gender roles). The gossip that is exchanged at the well turns out to be the best source of information in the otherwise rather close minded and quiet village. Bonus points if the villagers are dominated by a dogmatic, controlling culture/religion and the well, situated some hundred yards from the village proper, is the only place where they can socialize without without being watched by those upholding the village tenets. Cookies if the villagers are just peculiarly reticent, and only a brisk walk to the well will make them loosen their tongues..

339. An absent-minded fey sitting by the side of the road, struggling to count to 333 and repeatedly either skipping numbers, losing its place, or going too high.

A sign as your entering a town by ariver, with the words "Emergency regulation, it is forbidden to dump bodies in the river."

341: The road's blocked by a landslide. Climb over, back up and take another route, or apply magic?

I have used a couple of these, well a modified version and one mostly clean.

342. A sign as you're entering a town by river with the words, "Emergency Regulation: It is forbidden to dump bodies outside the river."

343. There's a crowd of people on the outskirts of town that are gathered around two men at a card table--a warrior and a wizard, playing a card game. The warrior has a smug grin, and the mage looks like he's about to explode with rage.

344. Sign in front of the Churgeon's office. "Please dump bodies out back."

345. A knight covered head to toe in armor appears to be lost and confused, meandering along the open road, clearly in need of aid. (Click the link for a fun reveal)

346. While walking down a forest path, the party passes by an immobile clockwork woodcutter, frozen in place due to rust.

If the PCs repair him [Knowlwedge (engineering), Disable Device, or a grease spell], they find that he is intelligent, friendly, and will travel with them for a time.

347. A small collection of wealthy young nobles, their carriage stuck in the mud during a torrential downpour, totally helpless to get out on their own merits. If aided, they quickly become groupies for the PCs.

348. A royal herald, carrying a message condemning the next village down the road as traitors to the realm. The herald is terrified of going and delivering the message, since no escort was provided.

349) A dental office. When you are in the operating chair you notice the muscular assistant and the dentist both are wearing holy symbols of Zon Kuthon.
