Multiple Weapon Focus and Explosive Missile Discovery

Rules Questions

My Alchemist is about to retire and I enjoyed the class so much I am making a new, different one.

I am planning on making one that focus' on using a Longbow and Explosive Missile Discovery. I was also considering in going into a few levels of Fighter for access to Weapon Spec. (Bombs), but then I questioned how my Weapon Focus' would work...

So if I have Weapon Focus (Longbow) and Weapon Focus (Bombs), would I get +2 on attack rolls for using the Explosive Missile?

I don't care too much either way, wont see this setup until level 5-7 where I will have plenty of BAB to compensate, but I am interested if it would work that way or not.

I've got two things that can suggest it wouldn't stack. For starters, from the feat description:

"Special: You can gain this feat multiple times. Its effects do not stack."

Emphasis mine. Besides that, there's also the fact it would be two instances of the same bonus from the same source (the Weapon Focus feat) so as a rule it probably shouldn't stack.

Sounds good to me!

Thanks for the input!

I actually totally disagree with Shinigami02's reasoning, but I totally agree that you wouldn't get a +2 to hit =P

Choose one type of weapon. You can also choose unarmed strike or grapple (or ray, if you are a spellcaster) as your weapon for the purposes of this feat.

Prerequisites: Proficiency with selected weapon, base attack bonus +1.
Benefit: You gain a +1 bonus on all attack rolls you make using the selected weapon.
Special: You can gain this feat multiple times. Its effects do not stack. Each time you take the feat, it applies to a new type of weapon.

What the "do not stack" text is saying is that you can't take "weapon focus: Longbow" twice to get a +2 to hit, but you can take the feat twice and get +1 to hit with 2 different weapons.

I see the bonuses to hit as being from different sources (WF:Longbow & WF:Bomb), and since they're untyped bonuses from different sources they should stack. If you could somehow make a single attack roll using both weapons, you could theoretically get the +2 to hit.

The question then is to ask if that's what you're doing?

Prerequisite: Alchemist 4

Benefit: As a standard action, the alchemist can infuse a single arrow, crossbow bolt, or one-handed firearm bullet with the power of his bomb, load the ammunition, and shoot the ranged weapon. He must be proficient with the weapon in order to accomplish this. When the infused ammunition hits its target, it deals damage normally and detonates as if the alchemist had thrown the bomb at the target. If the explosive missile misses, it does not detonate.

The way I read this the attack roll is made with the weapon (in this case a longbow), and not with the bomb. Any damage boosts to the bomb would stack (Weapon Specialisation?), but since you're attacking with the longbow you only get bonuses (and penalties) that apply to the longbow on your attack roll. You use the range increment for the longbow, you don't attack touch AC like a bomb would (unless you're using a firearm or something), etc etc.

What we have here is 2 answers that completely disagree on the HOW of the question, but end up at the same result.
