Possibly not *directly*, but the one I have running at the moment on my Bolt Ace (because of story considerations more-so than anything else) has the potential of causing a failed save at a crucial point or truly dampening a social encounter.
The boon itself doesn't cause a loss of character.
Failing the save on something or failing to hit something, etc because of the negative condition (the one I'm using is the Ghoul boon) could, though?

Well, I was wondering about the corruption three strikes rule. But that doesn't seem to be active.

Yeah, that wouldn't be fun in PFS. It's a different mechanic in the same theme as the corruptions.

I suspect that given how much alignment, paladins, and other things erupt into open-ended and lengthy discussion, the decision to modify the impact of corruption the boons are in fact called 'Fighting Off Corruption (Type of corruption)' so as to make it playable and prevent one GM from giving a 'pass' to their players and another having someone fall to corruption in the first encounter at a table (or as close to it as the mechanics would allow).

They were at GenCon as lottery boons and for the "delve" I think they called it. I have a few of them, but to be honest, I likely will never use them, I'm rather unimpressed.
The Corruption boons from Gencon aren't the same as the corruption rules from Horror Adventures. The boons at Gencon featured a drawback like receiving one fewer HP per die of healing, a trio of tasks the PC must undertake to remove said boon, and a benefit for completing said tasks. There was one for being corrupted by ghouls, devils, and one or two other types of bad guys.
