voska66,
I was just about to comment on the A series (Slave Lords also) as I have seen/played with various GM's and as a GM and have found that often players react to the GM's handling of the situation. ie I have seen quite a few GM's almost burst with glee at removing a PC's gear and cackle with evil laughter after entering some type of disintegration sphere in which all the PC's gear has to make save or die rolls and most of the groups equipment is lost.

Some like this type of game/story and some do not but having a good GM can go a long way to making sure it is enjoyable.

You should really have player buy-in for an event like this. Ideally with a payoff that makes the struggle worth it. But then, I think you need buy-in for most games anyway, it's just a question of how much.

I didn't think you could have to much role playing in a role play game

I will argue in this case, the GM had no choice, because the Adventure Path in question said so. The only choice he had was not to run that particular Adventure Path.

Way of the wicked is another Adventure Path you start without gear. But still its awesomely fun. Except I don't really make very good evil villian material.

Wrath of the righteous started out that way too for the most part.

Agreed. If you don't like too much roleplay, choose a game that is not in the role play genre.
