I don't really understand Striker's Scroll

Does this mean you can use the scroll twice?

Otherwise I can't understand why you don't just use the scroll as normal/

No. You affix the scroll so you can spellstrike with it. If you do, the scroll is expanded. If you don't, you can remove it and use it normally.

You know, at first I thought Strikers Scroll was the only way to use a scroll with Striking Spell, just by implication of the feat's existence.

But seeing how there doesn't seem to be any rule that would actually cause that to be the case, the only benefit if Strikers Scroll that I can see is that it would let you use the scroll while keeping your grip on a 2-handed weapon.

And I though this was a bad feat before!

Frees up a hand, I guess, and prevents you from having to draw the scroll. 2-hander would have to waste 2 actions getting the scroll out and putting hand back on weapon. 1-hander would have to either have it in hand to start, or waste an action drawing it. Also, since his hand isn't free, it's unclear whether you can slidecast as a 1-hander (scroll is destroyed in the casting, but when does the free hand requirement kick in?).

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The feat frees you the hand holding the scroll.

Which is important for both melee Magi since one of them has a two-hander and the other one wouldnt get the free Stride if he's holding the scroll.
