Tiefling Characters?

Tales

Please forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong area for this.

I was wondering if there were any good books with tiefling characters as the main focus just looking for tiefling background and fluff.

A friend told me about Prince of wolves but that type of thing seems more like a side character.

Again thank you for any help and any suggestions for books with tiefling character

Varian and Radovan get close to equal time in their novels -- in fact, I actually get the idea that I know Radovan better than Varian from reading these novels.

Another novel to look at is Hellknight -- one of its main characters is a Tiefling Hellknight.

That brings up a question to my mind.

Aren't Tieflings copyrighted by WotC. Aren't the part of the new product identity?

Is there some usage of Tiefling that comes beyond D&D and RPGs, a quick look up of it on google doesn't turn up anything beyond RPG inferences in the first few pages.

Were Tieflings released under the OGL?

If they werent', how is it that everyone is able to use the term Tiefling?

Sorry for my ignorance on the matter.

They're in the original SRD, which means yes it's open season on their use AS LONG as the terms of the OGL are adhered to.

Definitely Hellknight. Tieflings are a central plot point.

Radovan gets as much screen time as Jeggare in their novels but he's a more self assured example of a tiefling and the novels while good do not deal with what it means to be a Tiefling as much as Hellknight does. Though I love Dave's novels and the Big Smile Radovan uses so much.

So read Hellknight first then Prince of Wolves.

You could also give The Patch Man a try, from the web fiction. The protagonist is a Tiefling.

Nice. Thanks for linking this.
