Suli elemental assault plus elemental fist feat

Rules Questions

Does elemental assault and elemental fist stack? If so how does it stack? can I activate elemental fist to do fire damage while I activate elemental assault to do ice? do they both have to be the same element but it just adds more damage? Or does it just add extra rounds of elemental assault.

PS: I am a fairly new player who is playing a Suli drunken monk as my 1st character. I also made this account today so I am still trying to learn how to use the messageboard. Thank you for your responses!!! :D

The two abilities have no interaction, positive or negative. Using one does not stop you from using the other, and you can make different decisions for each ability's element.

Welcome to the boards! Saethori is right, the two are independent of each other. You can choose the same element or different elements for each.

This has advantages and disadvantages, though. Let's say you choose fire for each, and your enemy has resist fire 5. Now suppose you hit, and the results of your d6 rolls are 3 and 4. If they were from the same ability, you'd add them together and the creature would take 2 fire damage (plus whatever else from the punch). But technically, you aren't dealing 7 fire damage-- you're dealing 3 fire damage and then 4 fire damage. So all the fire damage would be prevented.

Unless you happen to know that your opponent is more vulnerable to a specific element than to others, it's probably better (and way cooler!) to choose different elements for each.

thank you both for the reply! I tried asking my DM and he wasn't even sure plus this is his first time being a DM. He assumed they didn't stack but just to make sure I wanted to find an answer. But no matter what D&D website I looked up it didn't specify if the 2 stacked or not. Then I used this website and ppl have asked this question before but they never mentioned on how they stacked which drove me crazy lol.
