Tekken Series.

So who loves a bit of Namco fighty goodness?!

I'm completely creaming my pants over the coming release for PS3! I really, really, really can't wait! I'm like a little kid on Christmas eve!

So who is your favorite character?

What would you like to see in future editions?

I love Forest/Marshall Law and challenge ANYONE to a button-bash-a-rama anytime anywhere! :P I'm also a fan of Yoshimitsu.

What I'd love to see is a proper in depth customization mode like you see in WWE games Smackdown vs Raw type thing...

Erm... I'll shut up now.

Lei is my man. I'm good at a knock down drag out 15 second butt kicking match with him, but I prefer to take it slow and show off with all of his various styles.

I'm was also pretty good with Xiayou, Brian, and Gun Jack but sadly I never owned the last Tekken. There was one character in the last game that I was really intrigued by - Feng Wei (?), I don't know, something like that - but I never played enough to get good at him.

I am very excited about the PS3 release, however. I won't be missing out on this one. Perhaps when it comes out I will take you up on your button mashing challenge, eh?

Of course, I love a challenge. ;)

The character Bob looks like he could be fun as does Zafina. I have a few characters I like and am quite decent with but yeah -I often get sidetracked by trying to fit all their flashy moves into a round and end up doing myself more harm than good. (Yoshimitsu)

Some of the non-core (sub-bosses?) characters are really cool and fun to use. Like Wang, Bruce etc

I really hate Eddy and the capoeira characters, they seem to have no depth and be really cheesy. Which sucks because I love the fighting style in real life etc.

Jack looks crazy this time around. :)

couldn't agree more. Nothing frustrates me more than playing someone who simply mashes the kick buttons on Eddy. Its way too easy. That being said, my girlfriend did get into the game because she could do a lot of cool moves without even trying with those characters, so maybe they are not all bad. . .

Those characters can be good for beginners yup.

I have always wanted to get good with Nina or King -just for all the locks, counters, holds and throws.

Both of them are able to grab you -then chain a load of moves together that takes all your energy bar without much room for escape! Very difficult to do though -you need a great memory and ninja fingers. I have a friend who used to be lethal with Nina, once he grabbed you it was pretty much over!

I LOOOOOOVE Tekken!

I started using Michelle Chang, but graduated to Julia Chang and find she is much better and so have never looked back.

Other fighters I also play (to complete my Top 10, in order of preference):
Anna Williams
Jin Kazama
Asuka Kazama
Nina Williams
True Ogre
Bryan Fury
Hwoarang
Paul Phoenix

I also don't mind Unknown, but she/it's randomness is too much for constant play, just fun play.

Paul is cool, the counters are aces!

King is unbelievable! I have seen him take someone down in one combo before. Truly amazing to be able to pull that off!

Yep, I've seen that one, its like ten throws in a row or something?

I bet youtube has a tutorial? *Goes to see*

Yeah I think it is ten throws/moves.

If I don't know how to use a character then I'm a bit of a button masher. That's why I've picked one character (Julia) and concentrated on her moves. The others on my list I have more knowledge of than anyone else, so I consider myself "good" at them (although I can't seem to get the proper hang of Paul and Anna & Nina can be a bit tricky).

I used to have Nina and King's chain throws memorised. Sadly I never pulled off King's Cobra Clutch -> Giant Swing/Muscle Buster 10-hit combo throw outside of practice and low level single player, as my manual dexterity is a bit too sub-par to risk pulling that stuff in two player. Didn't matter too much though as loads of the shorter chains are good fun. When you can pull of the utterly stupid (in name, looks and damage) Rolling Death Cradle in a two player fight, people get pretty scared of you, even if you can't do the last move consistently due to it being an utter b~~+@ to pull off :).

Main problem I have with Nina and King is that I get out of practice and forget their move set sooooooooooo fast.

I play pretty much every character a little (I know at least a couple of handy tricks for everyone, I often play Mokujin just to mess with people :P) but mostly I'm a Mishima girl :). Kazuya for preference but Jin, Heihachi and assorted diabolic incarnations are good too...

I wish I had tons o' cash, so I could get a PS3 and Tekken 6... Sadly I must make do with my 360 and Soulcalibur 4.

Yeah, Tekken is awesome tho'. Back when I was in school in Pitsburgh, they had a Tekken 3 cabinet in the student 'lounge'. I seem to recall being the only person to use Panda, and after a while it got to the point no one would play against me. They had much fear of my bear-battlin' skills!

Tekken 2 got me back into video games after a several year hiatus, and when my brother got a PlayStation, I got Tekken 2 (of course he let me play it). But when Tekken 3 came out in the arcades, I bought the arcade strategy guide, studied it, and dedicated myself to dominating in the arcades...which, I'm not to proud to say I did.

I loved Tekken, and wonder if it, like many other "exclusives" will find a home on 360, as well. Though I loved my PS2, I jumped ship for the 360, and would love to continue playing this wonderful series. If I can't though, alas, I'll survive, somehow.

Paul was, bar none, my best character. I started playing him because of his fast strikes, easy combo potential, and reversals, but also found in Tekken 3, he was the perfect Eddy-killer. One hammer punch, and you could shut down those button mashers. And with Eddy on the ground, a sway into left kick, right punch, then right punch/left punch would severely punish the scrub.

Ahh, takes me back...
