Ridley Scott and Exodus

Exodus.
This actually looks pretty cool. Then again, I'm one of those that actually love Prometheus and Gladiator.

This looks like Ridley Scott Gold!

People hated Gladiator?

Also, looks interesting.

Yes. Many moons ago I had a friend that was a film student, and his professor went on about inaccuracies and flash over substance... I'm not sure how accurate the criticisms were, but I don't care. I loves me a good revenge/self-sacrifice movie.

And ditto. Looks cool. :)

Anyone seen this yet? I went and watched it last night... wouldn't have even bothered, except we're reviewing it on my friend's radio show on Thursday, so I kind of had to.

The best way to phrase my opinion of it is something my former housemate used to say. I was neither over nor underwhelmed, I was merely whelmed. It was a thing that I saw, that was mildly entertaining, that I'll never watch again and could have just as happily never have seen.

A few points:

1. It's pretty bloody gorgeous to watch, so I can't fault it there.

2. I thought Bale and Edgerton's performances as Moses and Ramses were reasonable, but nothing special.

3. And by far the most entertaining bits of the film for me were, oddly enough, the seemingly out of place comedic moments involving Ewan Bremner (Spud from Trainspotting, and Mullet from Snatch, among many other roles) as a "scientist" type explaining the plauges, and similar scenes involving Indira Varma (Suzie Costello from Torchwood, Zoe Luther from Luther and Ellaria Sand from Game of Thrones) as the High Priestess.
