What special systems does this AP use? (no spoilers please)

So, I have been reading the players guide, and the horror adventures book. And I am wondering what special systems this AP will be using.
Will it use the new fear rules from Horror adventures? I have heard it does not use the sanity system.

The AP doesn't strictly call out using the new fear rule, but I certainly make the suggestion to do so. I think they're pretty cool.

Without giving away too much, the AP also uses the research rules found in Ultimate Intrigue and occult rituals from Occult Adventures.


Is there going to be any suggestions in the AP issues on how you can incorporate the Fear or Sanity systems from Horror Adventures?

Both of those systems make it pretty clear how to use them in any campaign.

I'd personally hack in the Fear and Sanity systems from Horror Adventures, but beyond those already mentioned, there wasn't anything I noted. Personally I'd keep track of supplies though, an element of resources scarcity I think helps this feel more desperate considering the circumstances.


It may be a lot of work, but I think adding in the 'Automatic Bonus Progression' from Unchained might work here quite well.

I'm using the Automatic Bonus Progression for Hell's Vengeance and so far it hasn't been a lot of work and I don't see why that would be any different for Strange Aeons.

So, you use the given creature stats and listed treasure and just drop whatever would not be available when giving out loot?

I use ABP in my Iron Gods campaign, except that I dropped the weapon and armor attunement stuff. I remove magic items that no longer exist from NPCs, and add their automatic bonuses based on only class levels.

So far: Yes, but I guess the higher level encounters will need some adapting.
