They're not futzing with the factions this year, so what would the guide change?

Hopefully nothing major, out side of the allowing the new races. However, there is still that nagging fear of some sort of big surprise. Although, I suppose a more rational concern is for a late change this year that will trip up those who are taking advantage of the new race stuff.

The Core Campaign rules needed a lot of work to bring them in line with the intended rules...

RAW the Summon spells don't work as thy don't specifically reference the Beastiary, but the can use the Beastiary Animal Companions because they do...

RAI the Summon spells work and you cannot make use of the Beastiary Animal Companions...

I'd almost think they packed up all the Paizo staff going to Gen Con in with all the stuff they're selling there and that's why they can't respond?

There are a lot of changes, but they're mostly just clarifications and the removal of redundancies.

The VCs have been hard at work for months doing edits in teams, each one focused on a different section.

It is possible that they had the pallets of water shipped in from the Costco across town, in that it's a lot easier to have the water delivered or shipped than it is to try to load all the water into a rental car and then unload it at the convention center.

The exact verb—shipped, ordered, procured, etc.—is one I'm using in a general sense. There are pallets of water that our operations staff secured and had waiting in Indianapolis by the time we got here to start setting up.

Just have a bit of patience, the guide is coming and we can dive into when it's released. I am looking forward to see if new faction traits are added or if they add a language chart to the guide instead of referring it to the world guide.

To ease some nerves: folks playing at conventions this weekend need not worry about their character "breaking" from Guide changes, there's no RPG errata releases to fret about for the foreseeable future*, and we're working to get this (and a plethora of other PFS updates) rolled out very soon. Im not sure they said that, though it may be true.

They said there is no immediate errata or need for anyone to worry about changing their characters. For a lot of folks going to GenCon, its too late to print out the guide before they go.

They are working on getting it and other things out.
